Resumo: | The present study aimed to trace the epidemiology of gestational syphilis in the state of Maranhão from 2012 to 2017, describing the age group, the diagnostic method, the clinical classification that most affects pregnant women, the time of diagnosis of positive cases of congenital syphilis. and the realization of prenatal care. In a quantitative approach, the research used as data source, the National System of Disorders and Notifications (SINAN). The parameters of age range, clinical classification of the disease, treponemal and non-treponemal test were observed. In cases resulting from congenital syphilis, prenatal care was evaluated, and the time of diagnosis of gestational syphilis in these cases. According to the data obtained, 4090 cases of gestational syphilis were reported in the period between 2012 and 2017, where 2873 represent women with the disease aged 20-39 years. The clinical diagnosis of primary syphilis is higher in all years analyzed. Regarding prenatal screening (VDRL), it was found that 84.4% of positive serologies were identified in the first test, however after the confirmatory test, 57.8% had positive results. There was an increase in the incidence of gestational syphilis cases in the years analyzed, with only a fall in 2016. Of the cases evaluated that resulted in congenital syphilis, 79.3% of women report having had prenatal care, most of them diagnosed. At this time and most of them at the moment of childbirth, demonstrating a problem in the state's primary health care. |

En los casos resultantes de sífilis congénita, se evaluó la atención prenatal y el momento del diagnóstico de sífilis gestacional en estos casos. Según los datos obtenidos, se informaron 4090 casos de sífilis gestacional en el período comprendido entre 2012 y 2017, donde 2873 representan a mujeres con la enfermedad de entre 20 y 39 años. El diagnóstico clínico de sífilis primaria es mayor en todos los años analizados. Con respecto al cribado prenatal (VDRL), se encontró que el 84,4% de las serologías positivas se identificaron en la primera prueba, sin embargo, después de la prueba confirmatoria, el 57,8% tuvo resultados positivos. Hubo un aumento en la incidencia de casos de sífilis gestacional en los años analizados, con solo una caída en 2016. De los casos evaluados que resultaron en sífilis congénita, el 79.3% de las mujeres informaron haber recibido atención prenatal, la mayoría de ellas diagnosticadas. En este momento y la mayoría de ellos en el momento del parto, lo que demuestra un problema en la atención primaria de salud del estado.O presente estudo teve como objetivo traçar a epidemiologia da sífilis gestacional no estado do Maranhão de 2012 a 2017, descrevendo a faixa etária, o método de diagnóstico, a classificação clínica que mais acomete as gestantes, o momento do diagnóstico dos casos positivos de sífilis congênita e a realização do pré natal. Em uma abordagem quantitativa, a pesquisa utilizou como fonte de dados, o Sistema Nacional de Agravos e Notificações (SINAN). Observou-se os parâmetros de faixa etária, classificação clínica da doença, teste treponêmico e não treponêmico, nos casos resultantes em sífilis congênita avaliou-se a realização do pré natal, e o momento do diagnóstico de sífilis gestacional nesses casos. De acordo com os dados obtidos, 4090 casos de sífilis gestacional foram notificados no período entre 2012 e 2017, onde 2873 representam mulheres com o agravo na faixa etária entre 20-39 anos. O diagnóstico clínico de sífilis primária é maior em todos os anos analisados. No que se refere à triagem pré-natal (VDRL), verificou-se que 84,4% das sorologias positivas foram identificadas no primeiro teste, contudo após a realização do teste confirmatório, 57,8% tiveram resultados positivos. Constatou-se um aumento na incidência dos casos de sífilis gestacional nos anos analisados, observando apenas uma queda em 2016.
