Resumo: The objective of this work was to study the biometrical characteristics and predation of H. parvifolia Huber seeds. It was measured the length, width and thickness of the seeds and the number of seeds per fruit and fresh mass of seed. For intact seeds and predated seeds it was measured the percentages and index speed of germination. The length, width and thick of the fruit were 8,5 cm, 4,1 cm and 3,2 cm, respectively. The fruits had 3,9 seed/fruit and the percentage of damaged seeds by insects (33,1%) was high. The predated seeds had germination percentages of 3,8% and index speed of germination of 0,0328 day-1. Rhinochenus stigma (L.) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) affected is an important damageof H. parvifolia Huber seeds.

Se determinó la longitud, el ancho y el grosor, el número de semillas por fruto y la masa fresca de semillas. Para las semillas normales y dañadas, se determinó el porcentaje y el índice de velocidad de germinación. La longitud, anchura y grosor de los frutos fueron de unos 8,5 cm, 4,1 cm y 3,2 cm, respectivamente. Los frutos presentaron aproximadamente 3,9 semillas/fruto y el porcentaje de daño por insectos fue del 33,1%. Las semillas dañadas presentaron un porcentaje de germinación de 3,8% y un índice de velocidad de germinación de 0,0328 días-1. El Rhinochenus stigma (L.) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) causa daños considerables en las semillas de H. parvifolia Huber.O objetivo do presente estudo foi descrever a biometria, a germinação e a observação de danos em sementes de H. parvifolia. Foram determinados o comprimento, a largura e espessura, o número de sementes por fruto e a massa fresca de sementes. Para as sementes normais e danificadas foram determinados a porcentagem e o índice de velocidade de germinação. O comprimento, largura e espessura dos frutos foram de cerca de 8,5 cm, 4,1 cm e 3,2 cm, respectivamente. Os frutos apresentaram aproximadamente 3,9 sementes/fruto e a porcentagem de danos por insetos foi de 33,1%. A sementes danificadas apresentaram porcentagem de germinação de 3,8% e índice de velocidade de germinação de 0,0328 dias-1. Rhinochenus stigma (L.)
