Resumo: | In order to provide speed and accuracy in the design of hydraulic structures, several computational resources have been used in this activity. The objective of this research was to develop an application for Android® system designed to design and calculate the flow rate of canals of trapezoidal, rectangular, triangular and circular sections. We sought to create a tool that is easy to use for students and hydraulic engineering professionals, and, at the same time, capable of providing accurate results. The application was developed using the App Inventor 2 platform, being called DIM Canal. The application was developed in two stages. Initially, the presentation screens were developed. Subsequently, the algorithm with the routines for the execution of the tasks of each screen was developed. The calculations performed are based on the Manning formula, using the conventional and economic methods. At the end of the development, it was observed that the DIM Canal application allows the dimensioning of channels of different geometries, using the conventional and economical method. In addition to making it possible to calculate the flow of channels with known sections. The DIM channel features friendly interfaces and intuitive handling, being available on the Google Play Store, or through the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=appinventor.ai_elton_ asmartins.DIM_CANAL_10_07_18_V2. The DIM channel can be used by designers in the field of hydraulic engineering and also by professors and engineering students, helping the teaching-learning process and improving the understanding of the observed phenomena. |

Research, Society and Development2020-08-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/618910.33448/rsd-v9i8.6189Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 8; e925986189Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 8; e925986189Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 8; e9259861892525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/6189/6020Copyright (c) 2020 ELTON APARECIDO SIQUEIRA MARTINS, EDSON EDUARDO OLIVEIRA PEREIRA, WELLINGTON RODRIGUES DA SILVA, EDER PEREIRA GOMES, FABRÍCIO CORREIA DE OLIVEIRA, JOSÉ ALVES FAVELA JUNIOR, RODRIGO APARECIDO JORDAN, RODRIGO COUTO SANTOS, VINICIUS AMADEU STUANI PEREIRA, THARSOS HISTER GIOVANELLAhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMartins, Elton Aparecido Siqueira Pereira, Edson Eduardo Oliveira Silva, Wellington Rodrigues da Gomes, Eder PereiraOliveira, Fabrício Correia de Favela Junior, José Alves Jordan, Rodrigo Aparecido Santos, Rodrigo Couto Pereira, Vinicius Amadeu Stuani Giovanella, Tharsos Hister 2020-08-20T18:00:17Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/6189Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:29:25.407803Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
