Resumo: The study on canvas or in hand aims to contribute to filling gaps in the historiography of German homosexuality, building new perspectives for studies on gender and sexuality in Brazil. Methodologically, the study is based on a historical-descriptive literature review on the treatment of different forms of manifestation of (homo)sexualities through Karl Heirich Ulrichs. It is considered that Ulrich's studies on the condition of the subject "Urning" (homosexual) were responsible for the paradigm shift of the LSBTI movement, opposing the hegemonic scientific conceptions that saw the practice of homosexuality as "sodomy", an acquired addiction, aberration, abnormality and sin.

Metodológicamente, el estudio se basa en una revisión bibliográfica histórico-descriptiva sobre el tratamiento de las diferentes formas de manifestación de las (homo)sexualidades a través de Karl Heirich Ulrichs. Se considera que los estudios de Ulrich sobre la condición del sujeto "Urning" (homosexual) fueron los responsables del cambio de paradigma del movimiento LSBTI, contraponiéndose a las concepciones científicas hegemónicas que veían la práctica de la homosexualidad como "sodomía", una adicción adquirida, una aberración, anormalidad y pecado.O estudo em tela ou em mãos objetiva contribuir com o preenchimento de lacunas sobre a historiografia da homossexualidade alemã, construindo novas perspectivas para os estudos sobre gênero e sexualidade no Brasil. Metodologicamente, o estudo fundamenta-se em uma revisão de literatura de cunho histórico-descritivo sobre o tratamento das distintas formas de manifestação das (homo)sexualidades através de Karl Heirich Ulrichs.
