Resumo: Bidens pilosa L. is an invasive species that has a high degree of aggressiveness among cultivated plants, being host of pests and diseases. The cosmeticindustry employs it to stimulate cell renewal and stain whitening because it has anti-aging and pro-collagen action. The black jurema, a species present in the Caatinga, is widely used for its therapeutic effects, but is capable of causing allelopathy in other species. The present work aimed to evaluate the allelopathic effect of different concentrations of aqueous extract of fresh black jurema leaflets on the germination performance of black picão seeds. A completely randomized design was adopted, with five treatments - concentrations of aqueous extract (control - distilled water; 25; 50; 75; and 100%) and four repetitions of 25 seeds. The following germination parameters were evaluate: percentage; average time; index and speed coefficient. The positive influence of the different concentrations was verified, mainly that of 75%, of the aqueous extract of black jurema leaflets on black picão seeds, and these germinated faster and in higher percentage in relation to the exclusive use of distilled water. For the alternative use of herbicides in the control of B. pilosa L. the extract of M. tenuiflora is not indicate, but aiming to meet the pharmaceutical and cosmeuticindustries by plants of B. pilosa L., the extract can be used for favoring germination and consequently the formation of seedlings.
