Hydroponic mint cultivation using biofertilizer as nutritive solution

Resumo: Main component of the hydroponic system, the nutritive solution attends the mineral requirements of plants in their growing. However, the constant high use of commercial fertilizers can become expensive for the grower. Thus, the objective was to investigate the viability of using partial or total biofertilizer in nutritive solution in mint cultivation. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse for 60 days in a completely randomized design with three treatments: 100% Biofertilizer; 50% Biofertilizer + 50% of the mineral nutrient solution; 25% Biofertilizer + 75% of the mineral nutrient solution and the 100 %mineral nutrient solution as positive control, in a structure with 56 plots according to the Nutrient Film Technique. The length of the plants that did not show significant differences between the treatments was evaluated. The values of fresh matter, dry matter and leaf area in partial substitution (50 or 25% of biofertilizer) showed an increase in relation to the mineral nutritive solution, demonstrating its viability. Thus, this increase in productivity can generate savings in the use of mineral fertilizers.

Sin embargo, el uso elevado y constante de fertilizantes comerciales puede ser costoso para el productor. Así, el objetivo fue investigar la viabilidad de la utilización parcial o total de Biofertilizante en solución nutritiva en el cultivo de menta. El experimento fue realizado en casa de vegetación durante 60 días en delineamento enteramente casualizado con tres tratamientos: 100% Biofertilizante; 50% de biofertilizante + 50% de solución de nutrientes minerales; Biofertilizante 25% + 75% de solución de nutrientes minerales y la 100% solución de nutrientes minerales como control positivo, en una estructura con 56 parcelas de acuerdo con la técnica de flujo laminar de nutrientes. Se evaluó la longitud de las plantas, lo que no presentaban diferencias significativas entre los tratamientos. Los valores de material fresco, seco y área foliar en sustitución parcial (biofertilizante 50 o 25%) presentaron incremento en relación a la solución de nutrientes minerales, demostrando su viabilidad. Así, este aumento en la productividad puede generar ahorros en el uso de fertilizantes minerales.Principal componente do sistema hidropônico, a solução nutritiva atende à necessidade mineral das plantas em seu desenvolvimento. No entanto, o uso elevado e constante de fertilizantes comerciais pode tornar-se oneroso ao produtor. Assim, objetivou-se investigar a viabilidade da utilização parcial ou total de biofertilizante em solução nutritiva no cultivo de hortelã. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação, durante 60 dias em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com três tratamentos: 100% Biofertilizante; 50 % Biofertilizante + 50 % da solução nutritiva mineral, 25 % Biofertilizante + 75 % da solução nutritiva mineral e a 100% solução nutritiva mineral como controle positivo, em uma estrutura com 56 parcelas segundo a técnica do fluxo laminar de nutrientes. Avaliou-se o comprimento das plantas que não apresentou diferenças significativas entre os tratamentos. Os valores de matéria fresca, seca e área foliar em substituição parcial (50 ou 25% de biofertilizante) apresentaram incremento em relação à solução nutritiva mineral, demonstrando sua viabilidade.
