Students perception of institutional violence in the classroom of a Public University in the State of Pará

Resumo: This study addresses the possible occurrences of violent practices manifested in the classroom relational space whose objective is to analyze the perception of university students about institutional violence which is presented into the classroom and how it affects their lives. It also was studied the influence of the phenomenon in the classroom, identifying the most frequent manifestations of violence, and also trying to create subsidies for carrying out promotion and prevention measures that aim an environment of more welcoming and healthy study and professional preparation. This research adopted a descriptive study way, with a qualitative approach, using a semi-structured interview, with 20 students belonging of psychosocial assistance program of a higher public education institution in the State of Pará. The data analysis was based on categories that emerged from the information provided by the participants of this research. Then, the verbal violence was found as really striking and expressive, although the other violence manifestation ways are also present. The student-student relationship was proved to be the most affected by attitudes or acts of violence, and these violent manifestations are capable to bring different negative impacts on the student’s lives, and on their physical and emotional health, as well as on their studies and relationships with family and friends. Therefore, the classroom in the institutional university context can be shown as an environment where violence can be triggered, which can result in harmful consequences to human nature.

También se estudió la influencia del fenómeno de la violencia en el aula, identificando las posibles manifestaciones de violencia más frecuentes, y también proponiendo generar subsidios para la realización de medidas de promoción y prevención que favorezcan un ambiente de estudio y preparación profesional más acogedor y saludable. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, con enfoque cualitativo, mediante entrevista semiestructurada, con 20 estudiantes pertenecientes a un programa de asistencia psicosocial estudiantil de una institución pública de educación superior en el Estado de Pará. En el análisis de datos se aplicó la técnica de análisis de contenido con base en categorías que surgieron de la información brindada por los participantes de la investigación. Se encontró que la violencia verbal es demasiado llamativa y expresiva, aunque también están presentes otras formas de manifestación. La relación alumno-alumno resultó ser la más afectada por actitudes / actos de violencia, y estas manifestaciones violentas son capaces de generar diferentes impactos negativos en la vida de los alumnos, en su salud física y emocional, así como en sus estudios y relaciones. con familiares y amigos. Se concluye que el aula en el contexto institucional universitario se configura como un entorno que puede desencadenar violencia, lo que puede derivar en consecuencias nocivas para la naturaleza humana.O presente estudo aborda as possíveis ocorrências de práticas violentas manifestadas no espaço relacional da sala de aula cujo objetivo consiste em analisar a apercepção de discentes universitários sobre violência institucional apresentada em sala de aula e as repercussões em suas vidas. Estudou-se, ainda, a influência do fenômeno violência, em sala de aula, identificando-se as possíveis manifestações mais frequentes da violência, propondo-se, ainda, a gerar subsídios para realização de medidas de promoção e prevenção que favoreçam um ambiente de estudo e preparação profissional mais acolhedor e saudável. Realizou-se um estudo descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa, por meio de entrevista semiestruturada, com 20 discentes pertencentes a um programa de assistência psicossocial estudantil de uma instituição pública de ensino superior do Estado do Pará. Na análise dos dados aplicou-se a técnica da análise de conteúdo a partir de categorias emergidas das informações fornecidas pelos participantes da pesquisa. Verificou-se que a violência verbal apresenta-se, demasiadamente, marcante e expressiva, apesar de outras formas de manifestação também fazerem-se presentes. A relação discente-discente mostrou-se a mais afetada por atitudes/atos de violência, sendo essas manifestações violentas capazes de acarretar em impactos negativos diversos na vida dos discentes, em sua saúde física e emocional, bem como em seus estudos e relações com família e amigos.
