Resumo: | This study aimed to describe contents, strategies and difficulties of teaching palliative care at a federal university. This is a descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, in which a survey on the websites of the departments of five courses in the area of health of a federal university about data from the teaching staff was adopted as methodological procedures. Then, an e-mail was sent to the professors with information about the research and a request to fill in a virtual form to identify professors involved with the topic of palliative care at graduation, who were invited for an interview. Seven semi-structured interviews were carried out with professors responsible for teaching palliative care content in the context of teaching and extension, and the data were analyzed through the discourse of the collective subject. Among the results, it was found that there was no offer of compulsory courses on palliative care and the presentation of specific contents, of a theoretical and theoretical-practical nature. As difficulties in teaching, four central ideas emerged: lack of transversality in the provision of palliative care content, curriculum structure, lack of knowledge on the subject and fragility in the system. It is believed that interdepartmental actions can reduce the difficulties expressed and expand the foundation of palliative care in graduate education, contributing to the development of skills necessary for assistance in this area. |

Research, Society and Development2022-11-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/3772810.33448/rsd-v11i16.37728Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 16; e83111637728Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 16; e83111637728Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 16; e831116377282525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/37728/31430Copyright (c) 2022 Maria Caroline Volpin Gomes; Regina Helena Vitale Torkomian Joaquim; Tatiana Barbieri Bombarda https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGomes, Maria Caroline VolpinJoaquim, Regina Helena Vitale TorkomianBombarda , Tatiana Barbieri2022-12-18T18:26:42Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/37728Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:51:47.240718Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
