Resumo: This study aims to evaluate the temporal pattern of mortality from aggression in the state of Ceará from 2006 to 2020. This is an ecological time series study on mortality from aggression in the state of Ceará, 2006 to 2020. The data were collected from the Mortality Information System. Descriptive analysis was performed using mean, standard deviation, absolute and relative frequency, minimum and maximum. The mortality rate was calculated and used for trend analysis using JoinPoint. There were 50,651 deaths in the entire period in the state of Ceará. The average mortality rate for both sexes was 13.99 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants (SD=20.14), males 26.77 deaths per 100,000 males (SD=38.54) and females with 1. 88 (SD=2.79). Regarding the time trend in general, all sex groups show a growth trend, presenting 4.9% per year, male 4.7% and female 7.5%. The age groups between 0-19 and 20-39 years also showed growth with 7.8% and 4.7% per year (both sexes). The trend of firearm-related mortality was an increase with 7.1% and a decrease of -4.4%. This study allowed us to observe a considerable number of deaths from aggression in the period from 2006 to 2020 in the state of Ceará. The temporal trend between the sexes was of growth in all groups (male, female and both), in relation to the age group, an increasing trend was observed only for the groups between 0-19 and 20-39 years.
