Pathological problems - Case study of the Antônio Papini Public School in João Monlevade, Brazil

Resumo: The phases that encompass the construction lifecycle consist of project, execution and maintenance. A good and detailed project, a quality execution and a scheduled maintenance can contribute positively to accomplishment and extension of this cycle. This article presents a case study of construction pathologies in the public school Antônio Papini in João Monlevade, Brazil. The identified pathologies are fissure opening in the masonry walls and in the floor system in classrooms and library of the school. Symptoms, origins, mechanisms, causes were analyzed and a best conduct for repair was provided. The methodology of the study was based on classification systems proposed in the literature, conduct definitions, search of architectonic project, site surveys, photographic reports and graphic reproduction for compare the circumstances and elucidate the decision-making. The results obtained are discussed and presented. The relevance of this article is studying the pathologies and its interferences in the global performance of the building.

Un proyecto bueno y detallado, una ejecución de calidad y un mantenimiento programado pueden contribuir positivamente a la realización y extensión de este ciclo. Este artículo presenta un estudio de caso de patologías de la construcción en la escuela pública Antônio Papini en João Monlevade, Brasil. Las patologías identificadas son las aperturas de fisuras en las paredes de albañilería y en los pisos de las salas de classes y biblioteca de la escuela. Los síntomas, orígenes, mecanismos y causas de la apertura de fissuras fueran analizados y una mejor conducta para la reparación fue propuesta. La metodología del estudio se embasó en sistemas de clasificación propuestos en la literatura, definiciones de conducta, búsqueda y accesso al proyecto arquitectónico, inspeciones en la escuela, informes fotográficos y reproducción gráfica de los ambientes para comparar las circunstancias y aclarar la toma de decisiones. Los resultados obtenidos son discutidos y presentados en el artículo. La relevancia de este artículo es estudiar las patologías y sus interferencias en el desempeño global del edificio.As etapas que englobam o ciclo de vida de uma construção, como um bom planejamento das atividades, aliados a projetos detalhados, que sejam fielmente seguidos com excelência e qualidade durante a execução, além das manutenções programadas na fase de uso, podem contribuir positivamente para que esse ciclo se cumpra ou se prolongue. Este artigo tem por objetivo, apresentar um estudo de caso sobre manifestações patológicas voltadas para o processo de fissuração em paredes de alvenaria e no sistema de pisos, com aberturas medianas, ocorridas em algumas salas de aula e no piso da biblioteca da Escola Estadual Antônio Papini, na cidade de João Monlevade - MG. Durante o processo analisou-se as manifestações patológicas no que diz respeito aos sintomas, origens, mecanismos, causas e por fim, na definição da melhor conduta para reparo. Este estudo, apoiou-se em dados disponíveis na literatura, que nortearam as classificações patológicas, bem como as definições de conduta, além da busca e acesso aos projetos arquitetônicos, vistorias ao local, relatório fotográfico e reprodução gráfica dos ambientes, para comparar as circunstâncias e elucidar as tomadas de decisões. Os resultados obtidos após o estudo de caso são contemplados no corpo do trabalho.
