Bibliometric analysis: premature birth, air pollution and fuzzy logic

Resumo: The present study aims to analyze the scientific production on premature birth and air pollution, using the Fuzzy approach. A search was carried out from articles in the SCOPUS database, with the keywords “premature birth” or “preterm birth”, “air pollution” and “fuzzy” during the period from 2000 to 2020. Soon after this step, for the analysis of scientific mapping of future trends, the SciMAT software was used, followed by the use of the VOSviewer software for the construction of maps of co-occurrences. Three combinations were performed for analysis, air pollution linked to fuzzy logic, and premature or preterm birth associated with the two factors separately. The combinations resulted in 743 unduplicated articles found in 76 countries, with 381 authors published in 255 different journals. No articles were identified that associated prematurity, air pollution and fuzzy approach together, making this a gap in the literature and a great research opportunity. The study of this topic is of great relevance to society, as it can assist in the creation of public policies, reduction of health-related expenses and increase in the quality of life of pregnant women and newborns throughout their lives.

Se realizó una búsqueda a partir de artículos en la base de datos SCOPUS, con las palabras clave “premature birth” o “preterm birth”, “air pollonation” y “fuzzy” durante el periodo de 2000 a 2020. Luego de este paso, para el análisis de mapeo científico de tendencias futuras, se utilizó el software SciMAT, seguido del uso del software VOSviewer para la construcción de mapas de co-ocurrencias. Se realizaron tres combinaciones para el análisis, la contaminación del aire vinculada a la lógica difusa y el parto prematuro o pretérmino asociado a los dos factores por separado. Las combinaciones dieron como resultado 743 artículos no duplicados encontrados en 76 países, con 381 autores publicados en 255 revistas diferentes. No se identificaron artículos que asociaran la prematuridad, los contaminantes atmosféricos y el enfoque difuso en conjunto, lo que hace de este un vacío en la literatura y una gran oportunidad de investigación. El estudio de este tema es de gran relevancia para la sociedad, ya que puede ayudar a crear políticas públicas, reducir los gastos relacionados con la salud y aumentar la calidad de vida de las gestantes y recién nacidos a lo largo de su vida.O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar a produção científica sobre parto prematuro e poluição atmosférica, utilizando a abordagem Fuzzy. Uma busca foi realizada a partir de artigos da base de dados da SCOPUS, com as palavras-chaves “premature birth” ou “preterm birth”, “air pollution” e “fuzzy” durante o período de 2000 a 2020. Logo após essa etapa, para análise de mapeamento científico de tendências futuras, foi utilizado o software SciMAT, seguido da utilização do software VOSviewer para construção de mapas de coocorrências. Três combinações foram realizadas para análise, poluição do ar atrelado à lógica fuzzy, e parto prematuro ou pré-termo associado aos dois fatores separadamente. As combinações resultaram em 743 artigos não duplicados encontrados em 76 países, contando com a publicação de 381 autores em 255 periódicos diferentes. Não foram identificados artigos que associassem juntamente prematuridade, poluentes do ar e abordagem fuzzy, tornando essa uma lacuna na literatura e grande oportunidade de pesquisa.
