Resumo: The attendance to a person in a state of psychiatric crisis, when it occurs outside the hospital or the Basic Health Unit, it is done by the Mobile Urgency Service. This paper aimed to analyze the epidemiological profile of the psychiatric attendance made by Mobile Urgency Service (Samu), in a metropolitan area of Parana State, in the year of 2018. A cross-sectional observational research using secondary data. The data was collected from the Samu´s files and it was analyzed using descriptive statistics and association tests between variables. In the year of 2018 there were 326 occurrences handled by the Mobile Urgency Service Norte Novo in Maringa, involving suicide, suicidal ideas and attempted suicide. The average age of the population assisted was 33,4 years old (DP ± 14,3). Minimum age being 10 years old and maximum of 78 years old. Most of the assistance occurred at the age group from 18 to 29 years old and them involved women (53,7%). The assistance to attempted suicide was the most frequent occurring more in women. As the suicide cases affected men the most, in a 4:1 ratio. The most common outcome was the referral to the Emergency Medical Unit (UPA). There were few refusal of care, what shows the severity of the event according to the physical, emotional and social aspects. The Samu´s care to the psychiatric urgency and emergency in the Metropolitan region of Maringá showed a reality that is similar to the other Brazilian and international researches. Qualitative research are indicated to understand the logic that dominate this self-destructive behavior.
