Resumo: Waste from health services is proven to be harmful to the environment and human health. Thus, the handling of this type of waste must be carried out in order to minimize the risks and must be carried out in accordance with the laws in force. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the management of Health Service Residues in a public hospital in the municipality of Paragominas/PA. To this end, the methodology developed used three stages: (1) the application of instruments for data collection; (2) tabulation of data and statistical analysis and (3) assessment of the compliance of RSS management in the municipal hospital of Paragominas and with the legal requirements. The results obtained in the survey showed that 47% of employees have not yet received any type of training to handle RSS and 13% have not been instructed to use personal protective equipment, as a result, 33% of employees have stopped using protective equipment. at least once during the handling of RSS; in addition to several non-conformities in the hospital with the legislation regarding the management of RSS, these being identified in the stages of segregation, packaging, collection and external transportation, waste shelter and Management Plan.

Por lo tanto, el manejo de este tipo de residuos debe llevarse a cabo para minimizar los riesgos y debe realizarse de acuerdo con las leyes vigentes. Por lo tanto, este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la gestión de los Residuos de los Servicios de Salud en un hospital público en el municipio de Paragominas/PA. Para este fin, la metodología desarrollada utilizó tres etapas: (1) la aplicación de instrumentos para la recolección de datos; (2) tabulación de datos y análisis estadísticos y (3) evaluación del cumplimiento de la gestión de RSS en el hospital municipal de Paragominas y con los requisitos legales. Los resultados obtenidos en la encuesta mostraron que el 47% de los empleados aún no han recibido ningún tipo de capacitación para manejar RSS y el 13% no han recibido instrucciones de usar equipos de protección personal, como resultado, el 33% de los empleados han dejado de usar equipos de protección. al menos una vez durante el manejo de RSS; Además de varias no conformidades en el hospital con la legislación sobre el manejo de RSS, estas se identifican en las etapas de segregación, empaque, recolección y transporte externo, refugio de residuos y Plan de Manejo.Os resíduos dos serviços de saúde são comprovadamente nocivos ao meio ambiente e a saúde humana. Desta forma, o manejo desse tipo de resíduo deve ser realizado de forma a minimizar os riscos e devem ser realizados de acordo com o que dispõe as legislações que vigoram. Diante disso, este estudo teve por objetivo analisar o gerenciamento dos Resíduos de Serviço de Saúde em um hospital público no município de Paragominas/PA. Para tanto, a metodologia desenvolvida valeu-se de três etapas:(1) a aplicação dos instrumentos para a coleta de dados; (2) tabulação dos dados e análise estatística e (3) avaliação da conformidade do gerenciamento de RSS no hospital municipal de Paragominas e com as determinações legais.
