Resumo: The present study consisted of a bibliographical research, in the great area of ​​Environmental Sciences, whose data and information are collected in existing works and serve as a basis for their analysis and interpretation. This method made it possible to identify trends, recurrences and gaps in the field of knowledge theory aimed at ways of understanding and applying Agroforestry Systems (SAFs). The results and discussion of this research were based on reading related to the research topic and analysis through books, articles, theses and dissertations. Being divided into four topics, namely: Agroforestry systems (AFS).

Este método permitió identificar tendencias, recurrencias y vacíos en el campo de la teoría del conocimiento orientada a formas de entender y aplicar los Sistemas Agroforestales (SAF). Los resultados y la discusión de esta investigación se basaron en lecturas relacionadas con el tema de investigación y análisis a través de libros, artículos, tesis y disertaciones. Siendo dividido en cuatro temas, a saber: Sistemas Agroforestales (SAF).O presente estudo constituiu-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, na grande área das Ciências Ambientais, cujo dados e informações são coletados em obras já existentes e servem de base para a análise e a interpretação dos mesmos.
