Resumo: During the processing steps and storage of agricultural products is common to use fluids as a means of transport and separation of impurities present in the grain mass, thus, it is necessary to know the aerodynamic characteristics, mainly related to grain and seeds. By determining the terminal velocity it is possible to perform the cleaner, transporter and dryer machine’s adjustment and operation and cleaning machines, transport and drying. This study aimed to determine the experimental terminal velocity and calculated for crambe’s (FMS Brilhante cultivars) fruit and seed, due to different moistures contents. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design in a factorial arrangement 2 x 9 (fruits and seeds x moisture contents 0.250; 0.220; 0.190; 0.163; 0.136; 0.111; 0.087; 0.064 and 0.042 dry basis - d.b.), in four replicates. For the experimental determination utilized a gram of sample product in an experimental equipment of the air column consists of a centrifugal fan connected to a transparent acrylic tube. The moisture content of the fruit and crambe seed affects the values of terminal velocity. The terminal velocity of fruit and crambe seed decreases with the reduction of the product’s moisture content. The calculated terminal velocity is less than the experimental one.

The calculated terminal velocity is less than the experimental one.Durante el procesamiento, procesamiento y almacenamiento de productos agrícolas, es común usar fluidos como medio de transporte y separación de impurezas presentes en la masa de grano, por lo tanto, es necesario conocer las características aerodinámicas, principalmente en relación con granos y semillas. Al determinar la velocidad del terminal, es posible realizar la operación y el ajuste de las máquinas de limpieza, transporte y secado. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar la velocidad terminal experimental y calculada para frutos y semillas de crambe (cultivar FMS Brilhante), de acuerdo con diferentes contenidos de agua. El experimento se realizó en completamente aleatorizado factorial 2 x 9 (frutos y semillas x contenido de agua - 0,250; 0,220; 0,190; 0,163; 0,136; 0,111; 0,087; 0,064 y 0,042 base seca - s.a.) en cuatro repeticiones. Para la determinación experimental, se usó un gramo de muestra de producto en un equipo experimental de columna de aire compuesto por un ventilador centrífugo conectado a un tubo acrílico transparente. El contenido de agua del frutos y semillas de crambe afecta los valores de velocidad terminal del producto. La velocidad terminal del frutos y semillas crambe disminuye con la reducción del contenido de agua del producto. La velocidad terminal calculada es menor que la velocidad terminal experimental.Durante as etapas de processamento, beneficiamento e armazenamento de produtos agrícolas é comum à utilização de fluidos como meio de transporte e separação de impurezas presentes na massa de grãos, desse modo, se faz necessário o conhecimento das características aerodinâmicas, principalmente referente a grãos e sementes. Por meio da determinação da velocidade terminal é possível realizar a operação e regulagem de máquinas de limpeza, transporte e secagem. Assim, objetivou-se neste trabalho determinar a velocidade terminal experimental e calculada para frutos e sementes de crambe (cultivar FMS Brilhante), em função de diferentes teores de água. O experimento foi realizado em delineamento inteiramente casualizado em arranjo fatorial 2 x 9 (frutos e sementes x teores de água - 0,250; 0,220; 0,190; 0,163; 0,136; 0,111; 0,087; 0,064 e 0,042 base seca - b.s.), em quatro repetições. Para a determinação experimental utilizou-se um grama de amostra do produto em um equipamento experimental de coluna de ar composto por um ventilador centrífugo conectado a um tubo de acrílico transparente. O teor de água dos frutos e sementes de crambe afeta os valores da velocidade terminal do produto. A velocidade terminal dos frutos e sementes de crambe diminui com a redução do teor de água do produto.
