Energetic potential of eucalyptus clones wood in different planting spacing

Resumo: Aiming to evaluate the potential wood energy of three clones of eucalyptus in different planting spacings, was installed an experiment with a randomized block design in a factorial design, with a combination of six spacings (2,5 x 0,5 m; 2,5 x 1,0 m; 2,5 x 2,0 m; 3,0 x 0,5 m; 3,0 x 1,0 m e 3,0 x 2,0 m) three eucalyptus clones (GG 157, GG 680 e GG 100), with three replicates. At 32 months old, was selected and cut down a medium-diameter tree per plot. These trees were scaled by Smalian method, using sections from 2.0 m to DAP. On these sections were removed wooden disks with 5.0 cm thick, which were used for the analyzes of basic density and calorific value of wood and, based on these values, it was possible to estimate the amount of energy stored per m³. It was observed that the basic density of wood, the gross calorific power and the energy stored in eucalyptus wood were different with the clones and planting spacing. Basic density and the amount of energy stored in a cubic meter of eucalyptus wood tended to increase with in the planting spacing, mainly for GG 680 and GG100 clones. The superior gross calorific of the wood showed no direct relationship with the planting density.

The superior gross calorific of the wood showed no direct relationship with the planting density.Para evaluar el potencial energético de la madera de tres clones de eucalipto en diferentes espacios de siembra, se instaló un experimento con un diseño de bloques al azar en esquema factorial,  una combinación de seis espacios (2.5 x 0.5 m; 2.5 x 1.0 m; 2.5 x 2.0 m; 3.0 x 0.5 m; 3.0 x 1.0 my 3.0 x 2.0 m) y tres clones de eucalipto (GG 157, GG 680 y GG 100), con tres repeticiones. A los 32 meses de edad, se seleccionó un árbol de diámetro medio y se cortó por parcela. Estos árboles fueron cubicados por el método de Smalian, utilizando secciones de 2.0 m del DAP. En estas secciones, se retiraron discos de madera de 5.0 cm de espesor, que se utilizaron para llevar a cabo el análisis básico de densidad y valor calorífico de la madera y, en base a estos valores, fue posible estimar la cantidad de energía almacenada por m³. Se observó que la densidad básica de la madera, el mayor valor calorífico y la energía almacenada en la madera de eucalipto variaban con los clones y el espacio de siembra. La densidad básica y la cantidad de energía almacenada en un metro cúbico de madera de eucalipto tendieron a aumentar con el espacio de siembra, principalmente para los clones GG 680 y GG100. El valor calorífico superior de la madera no mostró una relación directa con la densidad de plantación.Com o objetivo de avaliar o potencial energético da madeira de três clones de eucalipto em diferentes espaçamentos de plantio, foi instalado um experimento com delineamento em blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial, uma combinação de seis espaçamentos (2,5 x 0,5 m; 2,5 x 1,0 m; 2,5 x 2,0 m; 3,0 x 0,5 m; 3,0 x 1,0 m e 3,0 x 2,0 m) e três clones de eucalipto (GG 157, GG 680 e GG 100), com três repetições. Aos 32 meses de idade, foi selecionada e abatida uma árvore de diâmetro médio por parcela. Estas árvores foram cubadas pelo método de Smalian, utilizando-se seções de 2,0 m a partir do DAP. Nestas seções foram retirados discos de madeira com 5,0 cm de espessura, que foram utilizadas para a realização das análises de densidade básica e poder calorífico da madeira e, com base nesses valores, foi possível estimar a quantidade de energia estocada por m³. Observou-se que a densidade básica da madeira, o poder calorífico superior e a energia armazenada na madeira de eucalipto variaram com os clones e os espaçamentos de plantio. A densidade básica e a quantidade de energia armazenada em um metro cúbico de madeira de eucalipto tenderam a aumentar com o espaçamento de plantio, principalmente para os clones GG 680 e GG100.
