Contributions of Digital Technologies in the Health Teacher Training Course

Resumo: Distance education has also been a strategy employed in continuing education processes to enable and qualify teachers' work. The aim of this study was to identify what were the contributions regarding the development of a continuing education course, mediated by digital technologies, to teachers of Basic Education. It is a qualitative research, developed in three stages: questionnaire application to know a profile of the participants; development of a continuing teacher training course on health using the Hangout platform; and evaluation of the training process. Fifty-four Basic Education teachers from two municipalities on the western border of the state of Rio Grande do Sul participated. The method of analysis was the content analysis type. From the results obtained, it was verified that the implications were linked to the profile of the participating teachers and also to the use of digital technologies, such as the Hangout, to mediate and develop the proposal of formative actions with the teachers. Potentialities and weaknesses were identified about the development of the course mediated by digital technology. These were important in order to outline new strategies that meet the demands of teachers continuing education, aiming to improve and qualify the training process as a whole.

El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar cuáles fueron las contribuciones con respecto al desarrollo de un curso de educación continua, mediado por tecnologías digitales, para los docentes de Educación Básica. Es una investigación cualitativa, desarrollada en tres etapas: aplicación de un cuestionario para conocer el perfil de los participantes; desarrollo de un curso de educación continua para docentes sobre el tema de la salud, utilizando la plataforma Hangout; y evaluación del proceso de capacitación. Participaron 54 docentes de educación básica de dos municipios de la frontera occidental del estado de Rio Grande do Sul. El método de análisis fue el tipo de análisis de contenido. A partir de los resultados obtenidos, se descubrió que las implicaciones estaban vinculadas al perfil de los docentes participantes y, también, al uso de tecnologías digitales, como el Hangout, para mediar y desarrollar la propuesta de acciones de capacitación con docentes. Se identificaron fortalezas y debilidades con respecto al desarrollo del curso mediado por tecnología digital. Estos fueron importantes para delinear nuevas estrategias que satisfagan las demandas de educación continua para los maestros, con el objetivo de mejorar y calificar el proceso de capacitación en su conjunto.A formação na modalidade a distância também tem sido uma estratégia empregada em processos de educação continuada para capacitar e qualificar o trabalho de professores. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar quais foram as contribuições a respeito do desenvolvimento de um curso de formação continuada, mediado por tecnologias digitais, a professores de Educação Básica. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, desenvolvida em três etapas: aplicação de questionário para conhecer um perfil dos participantes; desenvolvimento de um curso de formação continuada de professores sobre o tema saúde, utilizando a plataforma Hangout; e avaliação do processo formativo. Participaram 54 professores de Educação Básica de dois municípios da fronteira oeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. O método de análise foi a do tipo análise de conteúdo. Dos resultados obtidos, verificou-se que as implicações estavam atreladas ao perfil dos professores participantes e, também, ao emprego de tecnologias digitais, como o Hangout, para mediar e desenvolver a proposta de ações formativas com os docentes. Foram identificadas potencialidades e fragilidades acerca do desenvolvimento do curso mediado por tecnologia digital.
