Brazilian research in Environmental Education that is currently in vogue: An analysis of national newspapers

Resumo: | The aim of this study is to identify the main contemporary trends of research in Environmental Education, to verify their gaps in interdisciplinary and holistic teaching in Brazil. To this end, a complete reading of articles from five national scientific journals with environmental focus, published between 2013 and 2016 and evaluated as B1 in Qualis (Capes) in the Teaching area, was performed. The data found were categorized into: percentage of publications per journal, thematic focuses, geographical distribution, educational institutions involved, educational levels, educational modalities and disciplines involved in the insertion of sustainable didactic strategies. The spheres of biology and science stood out for research in this area. Note the disparity in the concentration of regional studies, where the South and Southeast regions revealed high publications to the detriment of the Midwest region, as well as the modest amount of research on didactic and inclusive methodologies, climate change, basic sanitation and recognition. human being as an inherent element of the environment. This scenario delimits the barriers of interdisciplinary education in Brazil, whose legislation elucidates the need to employ critical environmental education in pedagogical curricula at all levels of education, aiming to establish a strategy-forming base in accordance with sustainable development. |

Con este fin, se realizó una lectura completa de artículos de cinco revistas científicas nacionales con un enfoque ambiental, publicados entre 2013 y 2016 y evaluados como B1 en Qualis (Capes) en el área de enseñanza. Los datos encontrados se clasificaron en: porcentaje de publicaciones por revista, enfoques temáticos, distribución geográfica, instituciones educativas involucradas, niveles de educación, modalidades educativas y disciplinas involucradas en la inserción de estrategias de enseñanza sostenibles. Las esferas de la biología y las ciencias se destacaron en términos de investigación en esta área. Existe una disparidad en la concentración de estudios regionales, donde las regiones del sur y sudeste revelaron altas publicaciones en detrimento de la región del Medio Oeste, así como la modesta cantidad de investigación sobre metodologías didácticas e inclusivas, cambio climático, saneamiento básico y reconocimiento del ser humano como elemento inherente al medio ambiente. Tal escenario delimita las barreras de la enseñanza interdisciplinaria en Brasil, cuya legislación aclara la necesidad de emplear la educación ambiental crítica en los currículos pedagógicos de todos los niveles de educación, con el objetivo de establecer una base de formación de estrategias de acuerdo con el desarrollo sostenible.O objetivo deste estudo compreende identificar as principais tendências contemporâneas das pesquisas em Educação Ambiental, verificar suas lacunas no ensino interdisciplinar e holístico no Brasil. Para tanto, realizou-se a leitura completa de artigos de cinco periódicos científicos nacionais com enfoque ambiental, publicados entre 2013 e 2016 e avaliados como B1 no Qualis (Capes) na área de Ensino. Os dados encontrados foram categorizados em: porcentual de publicações por revista, focos temáticos, distribuição geográfica, instituições educacionais envolvidas, níveis de ensino, modalidades educacionais e disciplinas envolvidas na inserção de estratégias didáticas sustentáveis. As esferas de biologia e ciências destacaram quanto às pesquisas nesta área. Nota-se a disparidade da concentração de estudos regionais, onde as regiões Sul e Sudeste revelaram elevadas publicações em detrimento da região Centro-Oeste, bem como a modesta quantia de pesquisas a respeito das metodologias didáticas e inclusivas, mudanças climáticas, saneamento básico e reconhecimento do ser humano como elemento inerente ao Meio Ambiente.
