Resumo: | Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects behavioral patterns, activities and social communication, which are usually repetitive or stereotyped, and can lead to serious complications in daily and routine activities. With regard to alimentation, usually carriers they present refusal, selectivity and indiscipline, making this process more complex. Given this context, this study aimed to identify the difficulties faced in the eating habits of children with ASD, as well as devising strategies of alimentation planning for these individuals. This work was carried out through bibliographic review on the subject, with consultation of the electronic database: SCIELO, PUBMED, with descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS), in Portuguese and English. The analysis of the publications points to an important performance of the nutritionist together with to a multidisciplinary team, working and implementing interventions that encourage healthy eating by reducing behavioral impacts detrimental to the development of these children. In this way, it is possible to build healthy habits in this population promoting health and well-being, consequently improving the nutritional status, contributing to the improvement of the life quality of these children and family members, strengthening bonds and affective relationships in the act of eating. |
