Resumo: Since its introduction in Brazil, in the 1990s, the web has aroused interest as a means of communication, information and interaction between people, institutions and professionals from different areas, including rural extension and agricultural research. This study sought to analyze the appropriation that extensionists make of the new communication vehicles through of the web, comparing their incorporation with conventional channels. The research used the survey method to collect data. It is concluded that the web as a means of communication and interaction is not yet appropriated by rural extension workers.

Este estudio buscó analizar la apropiación que los extensionistas hacen de los nuevos vehículos de comunicación a través de la web, comparando su incorporación con los canales convencionales. La investigación utilizó el método de encuesta para recopilar datos. Se concluye que la web como un medio de comunicación e interacción aún no es apropiada por los extensionistas rurales.Desde sua introdução no Brasil, na década de 1990, a web vem despertando interesse como meio de comunicação, informação e interação entre pessoas, instituições e profissionais de diversas áreas, incluindo a extensão rural e a pesquisa agropecuária. Este estudo buscou analisar a apropriação que os extensionistas fazem dos novos veículos de comunicação via web, confrontando a incorporação destes com os canais convencionais. A pesquisa utilizou-se do método survey para o levantamento de dados.
