Profile of patients with urinary incontinence treated in the area of urogynecological physiotherapy in a school clinic

Resumo: Objective: To verify the profile of patients with urinary incontinence treated at a teaching clinic. Methodology: This is a descriptive, quantitative and retrospective research. The medical records of patients treated in the area of ​​urogynecological physiotherapy were used in a teaching clinic located in the city of Montes Claros - MG, between January 2017 and July 2022. Results: Fifty medical records of patients aged between 5 and 80 years participated in the study. study, with a predominance of females (84.0%), all with urinary incontinence and with a history of previous urinary infection (90.0%). As causes of urinary leakage, half of the patients reported coughing as the predominant factor, with 50% of the participants reporting that drops was the amount of urine lost. Most patients (80%) did not undergo any type of surgery. Regarding the type of delivery, 90% of the women interviewed underwent normal delivery. The results also show that 100% of the patients were not obese, 90% use medication, 70% do not practice any type of physical activity and 75% had no voluntary contraction. In addition, 10% had pain on vaginal touch and sensitivity was present in 90% of patients. Conclusion: Future work can be developed in order to develop treatment programs and preventive measures that aim to obtain greater efficiency and quality of service provided to patients with this clinical condition.

Metodología: Se trata de una investigación descriptiva, cuantitativa y retrospectiva. Se utilizaron las historias clínicas de pacientes atendidos en el área de fisioterapia uroginecológica en una clínica docente ubicada en la ciudad de Montes Claros - MG, entre enero de 2017 y julio de 2022. Resultados: Cincuenta historias clínicas de pacientes con edades entre 5 y 80 años. participaron en el estudio, con predominio del sexo femenino (84,0%), todos con incontinencia urinaria y con antecedente de infección urinaria previa (90,0%). Como causas de pérdida de orina, la mitad de los pacientes reportaron la tos como el factor predominante, con el 50% de los participantes reportando que las gotas fueron la cantidad de orina perdida. La mayoría de los pacientes (80%) no se sometieron a ningún tipo de cirugía. En cuanto al tipo de parto, el 90% de las mujeres entrevistadas tuvieron parto normal. Los resultados también muestran que el 100% de los pacientes no presentaba obesidad, el 90% utiliza medicación, el 70% no practica ningún tipo de actividad física y el 75% no presentaba contracción voluntaria. Además, el 10% tenía dolor al tacto vaginal y la sensibilidad estaba presente en el 90% de las pacientes. Resultados: Cinquenta prontuários de pacientes com idade entre 5 a 80 anos participaram do estudo, com predomínio do sexo feminino (84,0%), todos com incontinência urinária e que apresentam histórico de infecção urinária prévias (90,0%). Como causadores de perda urinária, metade dos pacientes relatou a tosse como fator predominante, sendo que 50% dos participantes relatou que gotas era a quantidade de urina perdida. A maioria dos pacientes (80%) não foi submetida a nenhum tipo de cirurgia. Em relação ao tipo de parto, 90% das mulheres entrevistadas passaram por parto normal. Os resultados também mostram que 100% dos pacientes não eram obesos, 90% fazem uso de medicamentos, 70% não pratica nenhum tipo de atividade física e 75% tiveram ausente a contração voluntária. Além disso, 10% apresentaram dor ao toque vaginal e a sensibilidade esteve presente em 90% dos pacientes.
