Influence of Covid-19 pandemic on the glycemic indices of diabetic patients

Resumo: | Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is characterized as a chronic non-communicable disease (NCD) in which the body does not produce or cannot effectively use a hormone called insulin , which is responsible for controlling the amount of glucose in the bloodstream, as a method to avoid complications caused by this comorbidity the federal government has implemented family health strategies, in 2020, the ESF had to make changes in their care to the population due to the pandemic caused by Sar-Cov-2. Objective: the objective of this study was to identify which influence the pandemic caused by Covid-19 caused the glycemic indices of patients with DM. Methodology: this is a descriptive study of a quantitative qualitative nature, developed in a Family Health Strategy located in the Northern Zone of the State of Rio de Janeiro conducted with 10 nurses crowded in the unit performing a search of medical records and glycated hemoglobin tests to identify the alterations caused by the pandemic, Bardin methodology was used for content analysis. Result and Discussion: 213 medical records were analyzed that were part of the inclusion criteria, and all presented alterations in glycemic indices. Conclusion: Primary health care and its multidisciplinary teams are extremely important for the prevention of diseases and promotion of diseases, this was evident in the care that the teams had to treat respiratory symptoms and as health professionals we must always put the community good in front of economic values, value and respect epidemiological statistics. |

Como método para evitar las complicaciones causadas por dicha comorbilidad, el gobierno federal implementó Estratégias de Salud de la Familia (ESF). En el presente año 2020 las ESF necesitaron hacer alteraciones en la atención a la población debido a la pandemia causada por el Sars-Cov-2. Objetivo: el objetivo de este trabajo fue identificar la influencia que la pandemia causada por la Covid-19 ocasionó en los índices glucémicos de pacientes portadores de la DM. Metodologia: se trató de un estúdio descriptivo con naturaleza cuantitativa y cualitativa, desarrollada en una Estrategia de Salud de la Familia localizada en la Zona Norte del Estado de Rio de Janeiro. Un grupo asignado de 10 enfermeros realizó una búsqueda de las historias clínicas y exámenes de la hemoglobina glicosilada para identificar las alteraciones causadas por la pandemia; para el análisis del contenido se utilizó la metodología de Bardin. Resultado y Discusión: fueron analizadas 213 historias clínicas que cumplieron con los critérios de inclusión y todos los pacientes presentaron alteraciones en los índices glucémicos. Conclusión: La atención primaria de la salud y sus equipos multidisciplinarios son de extrema importancia para la prevención de las complicaciones de las enfermedades y promoción de la salud; eso quedo evidente en el cuidado que los equipos tomaron para tratar pacientes con sintomatología respiratoria, y los profesionales de la salud siempre debemos poner el bien comunitario por delante de valores económicos, valorar y respetar las estadísticas epidemiológicas.Introdução: O diabetes mellitus (DM) caracteriza-se como uma doença crônica não transmissível (DCNT) na qual o corpo não produz ou não consegue utilizar de maneira eficaz um hormônio chamado insulina, que é responsável por controlar a quantidade de glicose existente na corrente sanguínea. como método para evitar as complicações causadas por essa comorbidade o governo federal implementou a estratégia de saúde da família, que no ano de 2020 precisou fazer alterações no seu atendimento à população devido a pandemia causada pelo Sar-Cov-2. Objetivo: o objetivo desse trabalho foi identificar qual influência a pandemia causou nos índices glicêmicos dos pacientes portadores de DM. Metodologia: trata-se de um estudo descritivo de natureza quantiqualitativa, desenvolvida em uma Estratégia da Saúde da Família localizada na Zona Norte do Estado do Rio de Janeiro realizada com 10 enfermeiros lotados na unidade realizando uma busca nos prontuários e exames de hemoglobina glicada para identificarmos as alterações causadas pela pandemia. Para análise de conteúdo utilizou-se metodologia de Bardin. Resultado e Discussão: foram analisados 213 prontuários que fizeram parte dos critérios de inclusão, e todos apresentaram alteração dos índices glicêmicos.
