Resumo: Objective: To identify the effects generated by Virtual Reality (VR) in elderly people with Parkinson's Disease (PD). Materials and methods: This is an integrative literature review (ILR) qualitative approach. In order to develop the guiding question of this RIL, the domains of the PICo strategy were applied, resulting in the question: “What are the effects of VR on elderly people with PD?” A bibliographic survey was carried out in June 2022 in the following databases: Embase via Cochrane Library, LILACS via VHL and MEDLINE via PubMed. The search strategies were formulated from the mentioned descriptors in Portuguese, English and Spanish, linked by the Boolean operator “AND”. Results: 10 scientific articles were selected to compose this ILR. Discussion: Thus, the particularities of VR make it an alternative to achieve a variety of goals for rehabilitation, which includes encouraging patients to learn, their active participation, providing challenging and safe spaces, flexibility in customization and graduation. of treatment plans, recording the objectivity of their performance, in addition to the ability to motivate the patient with PD to perform at their maximum capacity. Final considerations: Therefore, scientific evidence shows that VR is a therapeutic resource with potential for use in rehabilitation, especially in learning and motor control, functionality, gait, cognitive ability and balance in elderly people with PD.
