Use of Coaching by Nurses on professional practice: integrative review

Resumo: | Aim: To analyze the existing scientific literature about the use of Coaching by nurses on professional nursing practice. Methods: Integrative literature review of full texts online published from 2015 to 2019 held in July 2020 at the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature and Education Resources Information Center. Results: 33 articles are analyzed. Most are quantitative, inform an intervention and are published in qualified journals with the first author linked to the institution in the United States. The use of Coaching as a process by healthcare nurses predominates in the Health Coaching modality. 63% of the articles report some training of nurses who applied the interventions. Conclusion: A more detailled description of the processes and techniques is beneficial to the understanding of the form of use and potential dissemination. The need for specific training for nurses when using Coaching is emphasized. |

Métodos: Revisión integrativa de textos completos en línea publicados de 2015 a 2019 realizada en julio de 2020 en Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe en Ciências de la Salud (LILACS), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) e Education Resources Information Center (ERIC). Resultados: se analizan 33 artículos. La mayoría son de naturaleza cuantitativa, con intervención, publicados en revistas calificadas con el primer autor vinculado a institución en Estados Unidos. Predomina el uso del Coaching como proceso por enfermeiros en la modalidad Health Coaching. 63% de los artículos informan alguna formación de enfermeras que aplicaron las intervenciones. Consideraciones finales: Una mayor descripción de los procesos y técnicas es beneficiosa para la comprensión de la forma de uso y la potencial difusión. Se enfatiza la necesidad de una formación específica para enfermeras cuando se utiliza Coaching.Objetivo: Analisar a produção científica existente sobre a utilização do Coaching por enfermeiros na prática profissional de Enfermagem. Métodos: Revisão integrativa da literatura de textos online completos publicados de 2015 a 2019 realizada em julho de 2020 na Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) e Education Resources Information Center (ERIC). Resultados: Analisa-se 33 artigos. A maioria é de natureza quantitativa, informam intervenção e está publicado em periódicos qualificados tendo o primeiro autor (a) vinculado a instituição dos Estados Unidos. Predomina a utilização de Coaching como processo por enfermeiros assistenciais na modalidade de Health Coaching. 63% dos artigos informam algum treinamento dos enfermeiros que aplicaram as intervenções. Conclusão: Maior descrição dos processos e técnicas é benéfica à compreensão da forma de utilização e potencial disseminação.
