Resumo: This study aims to analyze the available scientific literature on Burnout Syndrome in the nursing area. It is an integrative bibliographical review, with data collection in the virtual bases Scielo and Regional Portal of the VHL, using national articles of the last 5 years. The findings were analyzed and organized into sections. It was observed that the syndrome is a social disease and the professionals most affected are those who work in environments considered closed and with a more intense contact with the patients and their relatives. From the study, it is noticed the need to manage the health situation of workers by the institutions, mainly considering those who have greater physical-psychological proximity to the patient / family, and thus, can prevent Burnout Syndrome.
