Resumo: | The bulk-fill resin was introduced in dental practice with the aim of reducing the time of clinical procedures, besides offering a better or similar quality compared to conventional composites, in aesthetic direct restorations of posterior teeth. An integrative literature review was carried out based on the following guiding question: "What criteria and advantages should be taken into consideration when choosing the use of bulk fill resins over composite resins in aesthetic direct restorations of posterior teeth?", which was constructed using the PICO strategy. Eight articles were selected for the review, taken from Pubmed and Scielo databases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the use of bulk-fill resins compared to composite resins and their benefits in direct aesthetic restorations of posterior teeth, as well as to analyze the criteria for choosing both materials. It was concluded that bulk-fill resin and composite resin present similar results in direct restorations of posterior teeth. The bulk-fill resin optimizes the time of professionals because it allows a greater increment, but most authors recommend finishing the restorations with conventional composites, due to the risk of postoperative sensitivity that the bulk-fill material presents. |

Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica integradora basada en la siguiente pregunta guía: "¿Qué criterios y ventajas deben tenerse en cuenta a la hora de elegir el uso de resinas de relleno a granel en comparación con las resinas compuestas en restauraciones estéticas directas de dientes posteriores?", que se construyó utilizando la estrategia PICO. Se seleccionaron ocho artículos para la revisión, tomados de las bases de datos Pubmed y Scielo. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el uso de resinas bulk-fill en comparación con las resinas compuestas y sus beneficios en restauraciones estéticas directas de dientes posteriores, así como analizar los criterios de elección de ambos materiales. Se concluyó que la resina bulk-fill y la resina compuesta presentan resultados similares en restauraciones directas de dientes posteriores. La resina bulk-fill optimiza el tiempo de los profesionales porque permite un mayor incremento, pero la mayoría de los autores recomiendan terminar las restauraciones con composites convencionales, debido al riesgo de sensibilidad postoperatoria que presenta el material bulk-fill.A resina bulk-fill foi inserida na prática odontológica com o objetivo de diminuir o tempo dos procedimentos clínicos, além de oferecer uma qualidade melhor ou semelhante em relação aos compósitos convencionais, em restaurações estéticas diretas de dentes posteriores. Foi realizada uma revisão integrativa da literatura que surgiu da seguinte pergunta norteadora: “Quais os critérios e vantagens devem ser levados em consideração, para a escolha do uso de resinas bulk fill em relação às resinas compostas, em restaurações estéticas diretas de dentes posteriores?”, esta foi construída utilizando a estratégia PICO. Foram selecionados 8 artigos para a revisão, retirados das bases de dados Pubmed e Scielo. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o uso de resinas bulk-fill em relação às resinas compostas e seus benefícios em restaurações estéticas diretas de dentes posteriores, bem como analisar os critérios de escolha de ambos os materiais. Concluiu-se que a resina bulk-fill e a resina composta apresentam resultados semelhantes em restaurações diretas de dentes posteriores.
