The Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) proposal – the ‘car of ligth’

Resumo: This work is a description of a methodological didactic proposal to promote interdisciplinarity, using the methodological way of STEAM Education. STEAM Education, (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics), has as guiding principle the practical application of theoretical contents for problem solving. In this context, we used David Ausubel's Theory of Meaningful Learning, known abbreviated as TML to support our proposal. According to the TAS, significant learning promotes the cognitive development of the student and places the teacher as the protagonist agent of the teaching process. Thus, the proposal described here is called Potentially Significant Teaching Unit, PSTU and results from research in national and international theoretical references which discuss pedagogical didactic methodologies and the specific roles of teachers and students in the teaching learning process.

La Educatión STEAM, un acrónimo en inglés para Ciencias, Tecnología, Ingeniería, Artes y Matemáticas, tiene como guía principal, la aplicación práctica de los contenidos teóricos para resolver problemas. En este contexto, se utilizó la teoría del aprendizaje significativo de David Ausubel, conocido por sus siglas TAS para apoyar nuestra propuesta. De acuerdo con TAS, el aprendizaje significativo promueve el desarrollo cognitivo del estudiante y coloca al maestro como protagonista del proceso de enseñanza. Por lo tanto, la propuesta descrita aquí se llama Unidad de Enseñanza Potencialmente Significativa, UEPS y los resultados de la investigación sobre las referencias teóricas nacionales e internacionales que discuten las metodologías didácticas pedagógicas y las funciones específicas del maestro y el alumno en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.Este trabalho é uma descrição de proposta didático metodológica para promover a interdisciplinaridade, utilizando os pilares metodológicos da Educação STEAM. A Educação STEAM, acrônico em inglês para Ciências, Tecnologia, Engenharia, Artes e Matemática, tem como princípio norteador a aplicação prática dos conteúdos teóricos para a solução de problemas. Neste contexto, utilizamos a teoria da Aprendizagem Significativa de David Ausubel, conhecida abreviadamente por TAS para fundamentar nossa proposta. De acordo com a TAS, a aprendizagem significativa promove o desenvolvimento cognitivo do aluno e coloca o professor como agente protagonista do processo de ensino.
