Resumo: | Sexual violence is a public health issue and can occur in both sexes and of different age groups, with women, children and youths and young adults being victims. The objective was to evaluate the attendance and characteristics of sexual violence against children and adolescents, in the state of Sergipe. Documentary study composed of medical records and investigation forms of sexual violence in female victims from 0 to 19 years old, from July to December 2019, attended at the Instituto Médico Legal de Sergipe and at the Nossa Senhora de Lourdes maternity hospital. 288 medical records were analyzed, including the medical records of 223 female victims, with an average of 9.95 ± 4.6 years, mostly brown, single, incomplete high school, student, without sexual intercourse prior to abuse. Rape was the most frequent type of aggression, in the home itself, being the only and known aggressor. The service took place, in most cases, after 72 hours, with serological exams and BHCG examinations being requested in 33.2% and two victims who became pregnant had legal termination of pregnancy. Sexual violence occurred in a similar way in children and adolescents, most of whom were vulnerable, with no sexual practice prior to the event and by an aggressor of intra-family life. The demand for care was mostly delayed, reducing the possibility of prophylaxis. It is expected that the study will contribute to decision making regarding prevention and education projects, in carrying out effective actions to protect children and adolescents who are victims of sexual violence. |
