A look at tourism in Serra de Itabaiana/SE: evaluation of its tourist potential

Resumo: Given the importance of the tourist activity, it is noted the need and effort that managers have when planning tourism properly, seeking the economic, social, cultural and environmental sustainability of the receiving region. Thus, this article aims to analyze the existence of the tourist potential of Serra de Itabaiana/SE, using the methodology developed by Barcelos (2016). Data were collected through a survey with questionnaires applied in loco, semi-structured interviews, in addition to bibliographic, documentary research and direct observation. The results show that the Serra de Itabaiana has a high tourist potential, through the influence of its scenic beauty and unique aesthetics, due to the quantities and diversity of natural, cultural and religious resources, conducive to tourism development. This research made it possible to point out the need to monitor cargo capacity so that there are no negative impacts on the environment, such as working to foster the surrounding community for the development of community-based tourism.

Por lo tanto, este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la existencia del potencial turístico de la Serra de Itabaiana/SE, utilizando la metodología desarrollada por Barcelos (2016). Los datos se recopilaron a través de una encuesta con cuestionarios aplicados en entrevistas locas, semiestructuradas, además de investigación bibliográfica, documental y observación directa. Los resultados muestran que la Serra de Itabaiana tiene un alto potencial turístico, a través de la influencia de su belleza escénica y estética única, debido a la cantidad y diversidad de recursos naturales, culturales y religiosos, propicios para el desarrollo turístico. Esta investigación permitió señalar la necesidad de monitorear la capacidad de carga para que no haya impactos negativos en el medio ambiente, como trabajar para fomentar la comunidad circundante para el desarrollo del turismo comunitario.Dada a importância da atividade turística, nota-se a necessidade e o esforço que os gestores têm ao planejar o turismo de forma adequada, buscando a sustentabilidade econômica, social, cultural e ambiental da região receptora. Assim, esse artigo tem por objetivo analisar a existência da potencialidade turística da Serra de Itabaiana/SE, utilizando a metodologia desenvolvida por Barcelos (2016). Os dados foram coletados por meio de survey com questionários aplicados in loco, entrevista semiestruturada, além de pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e observação direta. Os resultados apontam que a Serra de Itabaiana apresenta um elevado potencial turístico, através da influência de sua beleza cênica e estética singular, pelas quantidades e diversidade de recursos naturais, culturais e religiosos, propícios ao desenvolvimento turístico.
