Resumo: Probiotics are live microorganisms that beneficially affect the host when administered in adequate amounts, in addition to having an excellent safety profile. For this reason, probiotics have been used as immunomodulators in inflammatory skin diseases such as inflammatory acne. This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic action of probiotics in acne. An integrative literature review was carried out. Quantitative and qualitative data performed in culture medium and in humans. Electronic searches were performed on PubMed/MEDLINE and BIREME, considering published studies without date limits. The search took place in October 2020, using a combination of the following terms and correlates: “probiotic” and “acne”. Ten studies were included, four in vivo and six in vitro. The studies used several probiotics known in the literature for supplementation, obtaining a positive result. However, there are still few studies that use probiotics to acne treatment as an adjunct with antibiotics or alone.

Se incluyeron diez estudios, cuatro in vivo y seis in vitro. Research, Society and Development2022-09-09info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/3433510.33448/rsd-v11i12.34335Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 12; e129111234335Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 12; e129111234335Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 12; e1291112343352525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/34335/28910Copyright (c) 2022 Isabela Ribeiro Nascimento de Vasconcellos; Gabriela Cabett Cipolli; Raul Cartagena Rossihttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessVasconcellos, Isabela Ribeiro Nascimento de Cipolli, Gabriela CabettRossi, Raul Cartagena2022-09-26T11:56:08Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/34335Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:49:40.814681Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
