Pain in the context of urgency and emergency: an integrative review

Resumo: Studies have shown that pain is one of the main complaints of patients who are seen at the Urgency and Emergency Units, with vital signs being evaluated and, in addition, the severity of pain for later classification and follow-up of care. The objective was to analyze scientific production regarding pain management in the face of urgency and emergency. For this purpose, a descriptive integrative literature review was carried out, and the search for scientific articles was carried out in the SciELO database and virtual library, using the terms: "pain", "urgency and emergency", in all the fields, and “nursing” in the area of knowledge. The main results showed pain assessment in the face of urgency and emergency, analyzing the degree of pain during the reception of the patient for further classification, medical care and being medicated according to medical prescription and monitoring pain relief after analgesics.

El objetivo era analizar la producción científica en relación con el manejo del dolor ante la urgencia y la emergencia. Para este propósito, se llevó a cabo una revisión descriptiva de la literatura integrativa, y la búsqueda de artículos científicos se llevó a cabo en la base de datos SciELO y en la biblioteca virtual, utilizando los términos "dolor", "urgencia y emergencia". los campos y "enfermería" en el área del conocimiento. Los resultados principales mostraron una evaluación del dolor ante la urgencia y la emergencia, analizando el grado de dolor durante la recepción del paciente para una clasificación adicional, atención médica y medicamentos según la prescripción médica y monitoreando el alivio del dolor después de los analgésicos.Estudos têm demonstrado que a dor é uma das principais queixas dos pacientes que são atendidos nas Unidades de Urgência e Emergência, sendo avaliados os sinais vitais e, além disso, a gravidade da dor para posterior classificação e seguimento do atendimento. O objetivo foi analisar as produções científicas a respeito do manejo da dor frente à urgência e emergência. Para tanto se realizou uma pesquisa descritiva de revisão de literatura do tipo integrativa, sendo a busca dos artigos científicos realizada na base de dados SciELO e biblioteca virtual, utilizando-se os termos: “dor”, “urgência e emergência”, em todos os campos, e “enfermagem” em área do conhecimento.
