The vírus of the market: Syndemic and the contributions of ecovillages to the reconfiguration of the human being/nature relationships

Resumo: The crisis caused by Sars-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19, is an ecological crisis. The agency of effective actions for its control and overcoming requires a systemic understanding of the phenomenon and the concept of syndemic is more appropriate as it encompasses such complexity. Thus, we discuss the rupture of sociometabolism between human being/nature in the midst of alienated relations of production carried out in the market and how the movement of ecovillages contributes to reconfigure the human being/nature relationship based on ecological bases. The agricultural and construction industries, which model the spatial distribution in the countryside and in the city based on the logic of capital accumulation, exert strong pressure on ecosystems and are taken as a reference in this investigation. The experiences of four ecovillages, through ethnographic-inspired research, reveal an organizational type that, once oriented towards self-sufficiency mediated by self-managed communal work, has the potential to reconfigure the human/nature relationship, mitigating the embarrassments of the market enclave and the consequences of the syndemic via polyculture practices, bio-constructions and dissemination of their ideals for their militancy and ecological education, while touching on the fundamental points of the crisis, that is, socio-environmental degradation.

La agencia de acciones efectivas para su control y superación requiere una comprensión sistémica del fenómeno y el concepto de sindemia es más apropiado ya que abarca tal complejidad. Así, discutimos la ruptura del sociometabolismo entre ser humano / naturaleza en medio de relaciones de producción alienadas realizadas en el mercado y cómo el movimiento de ecoaldeas contribuye a reconfigurar la relación ser humano / naturaleza a partir de bases ecológicas. Las industrias agrícola y de la construcción, que modelan la distribución espacial tanto en el campo como en la ciudad a partir de la lógica de la acumulación de capital, ejercen una fuerte presión sobre los ecosistemas y son tomadas como referencia en esta investigación. Las experiencias de cuatro ecoaldeas, a través de investigaciones de inspiración etnográfica, revelan un tipo organizativo que, una vez orientado hacia la autosuficiencia mediada por el trabajo comunitario autogestionado, tiene el potencial de reconfigurar la relación humano / naturaleza, mitigando las limitaciones del enclave del mercado y las consecuencias de la sindemia a través de prácticas de policultivo, bioconstrucciones y difusión de sus ideales a través de su militancia y educación ecológica, mientras tocan los puntos fundamentales de la crisis, es decir, la degradación socioambiental.Afirmamos nesse artigo que a crise provocada pelo Sars-CoV-2, causador da Covid-19, é uma crise ecológica. O agenciamento de ações efetivas para seu controle e superação requer compreensão sistêmica do fenômeno e o conceito de sindemia é mais adequado à medida que abarca tal complexidade. Discutimos, assim, a ruptura do sociometabolismo entre ser humano/natureza em meio à relações alienadas de produção efetivadas no mercado e como o movimento de ecovilas contribui para reconfigurar a relação ser humano/natureza a partir de bases ecológicas. A indústria agrícola e da construção, que modelam a distribuição espacial tanto no campo quanto na cidade a partir da lógica de acumulação do capital, exercem forte pressão nos ecossistemas e são tomados como referência nesta investigação.
