Adverse events related to medications in adult intensive therapy: an integrative review

Resumo: Objective: Identifying national productions in the literature regarding medication errors in Intensive Care Units. Method: It is an integrative review conducted through access to SCIELO and VHL databases using the keywords “Medication errors”, “Adverse event”, “Nursing” and “Adult ICU”. Results: Eight articles highlighting the issue were found. Conclusion: The importance of strengthening strategies to minimize drug-related adverse events. Thus, the relevance of research that highlights the nature of these adverse events is highlighted. Therefore, it is essential to work with strategies to better manage the medication system.

Método: esta es una revisión integradora realizada a través del acceso a las bases de datos SCIELO y VHL, utilizando los descriptores "Errores de medicación", "Acontecimiento adverso", "Uso de medicamentos" y "Enfermería y UCI de adultos". Resultados: se encontraron ocho artículos que destacan el tema propuesto. Conclusión: la importancia de fortalecer las estrategias para minimizar los eventos adversos relacionados con las drogas. Por lo tanto, se destaca la relevancia de la investigación que destaca la naturaleza de estos eventos adversos. Por lo tanto, es esencial trabajar con estrategias para administrar mejor el sistema de medicación.Objetivo: Identificar na literatura as produções nacionais a respeito dos erros de medicação em UTI. Método: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa realizada através do acesso às bases de dados SCIELO e BVS, utilizando os descritores “Erros de medicação”, “Evento adverso”, “Enfermagem” e “UTI adulto”. Resultados: Foram encontrados oito artigos que evidenciam o tema proposto. Conclusão: A importância de fortalecer as estratégias para minimizar os eventos adversos relacionados a medicamentos. Desta forma, salienta-se a relevância de pesquisas que ressaltem a natureza desses eventos adversos.
