The higher EAD market in Brazil: educommunicative practice and the social effects in the formation of democratic citizenship

Resumo: In view of the expressive growth of Distance Education (EAD) in the last decade in Brazil, the present work aims to investigate some fragments about the social problem of higher education in the country through a study on the social context and on the propagation of this teaching modality, characterized as an application of educommunication. Based on this theme, we intend to promote the following question: what are the possible social effects generated by the spread of EAD as an educommunicative practice in the process of forming a democratic citizenship? For this purpose, a bibliographic research published by written and electronic means was carried out. Between the months of August and December 2019, in the electronic searches, the databases of Google Scholar, traditional Google, Scielo and Lilacs were accessed, aiming to collect information and previous knowledge about different positions regarding the investigated problem.

En base a este tema, tenemos la intención de promover la siguiente pregunta: ¿cuáles son los posibles efectos sociales generados por la difusión de EAD como práctica educomunicativa en el proceso de formación de una ciudadanía democrática? Para ello, se realizó una investigación bibliográfica publicada por medios escritos y electrónicos. Entre los meses de agosto y diciembre de 2019, en las búsquedas electrónicas, se accedió a las bases de datos de Google Scholar, Google tradicional, Scielo y Lilacs, con el objetivo de recopilar información y conocimientos previos sobre diferentes posiciones con respecto al problema investigado.Diante do expressivo crescimento da Educação a distância (EAD) na última década no Brasil, o presente trabalho visa investigar alguns fragmentos acerca da problemática social da educação superior no país mediante um estudo sobre o contexto social e sobre a propagação desta modalidade de ensino, caracterizada como uma aplicação da educomunicação. A partir desta temática, pretende-se promover a seguinte questão: quais os possíveis efeitos sociais gerados pela propagação do EAD como prática educomunicativa no processo de formação de uma cidadania democrática? Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica publicadas por meio escrito e eletrônico.
