Resumo: | This paper analyzes the process of struggle for land and the implementation of the Agricultural Family School of the Bico do Papagaio Padre Josimo (AFSBIP) in Esperantina, state of Tocantins. To this end, we sought to understand how the historical process of struggle for land and agrarian conflicts took place in the micro-region of the Bico do Papagaio, the mobilization of social movements in the struggle for a school for the rural people of the region, to then understand aspects of AFSBIP’s historical trajectory. It is a qualitative research, bibliographic and documentary in nature. The corpus consists of school-camp documents and four interviews with social actors in the community. The investigation revealed that the process of fighting for land in this region was very tense for peasants, with many conflicts and deaths. The results of the research also contribute to making the history of the struggle for land and the creation of this agricultural family school always remembered, in addition to the fact that AFSBIP is contributing significantly to the formation of several peasants. |

Con este fin, buscamos comprender cómo se llevó a cabo el proceso histórico de lucha por la tierra y los conflictos agrarios en la micro región del Bico do Papagaio, la movilización de los movimientos sociales en la lucha por una escuela para la población rural de la región, para luego comprender aspectos de la trayectoria histórica de la EFABIP. Es una investigación cualitativa, de naturaleza bibliográfica y documental. El corpus consiste en documentos de la escuela y cuatro entrevistas con actores sociales en la comunidad. La investigación reveló que el proceso de lucha por la tierra en esta región fue muy tenso para los campesinos, con muchos conflictos y muertes. Los resultados de la investigación también contribuyen a hacer que la historia de la lucha por la tierra y la creación de esta escuela familiar agrícola siempre se recuerden, además del hecho de que EFABIP está contribuyendo significativamente a la formación de varios campesinos.Este artigo analisa o processo de luta pela terra e implantação da Escola Família Agrícola do Bico do Papagaio Padre Josimo (EFABIP) em Esperantina, estado do Tocantins. Para tanto, buscou-se entender como se deu o processo histórico de luta pela terra e os conflitos agrários na microrregião do Bico do Papagaio, a mobilização dos movimentos sociais na luta por uma escola para os povos do campo da região para, então, compreender aspectos da trajetória histórica da EFABIP. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, de natureza bibliográfica e documental. O corpus é constituído de documentos da escola-campo e de quatro entrevistas realizadas com atores sociais da comunidade. A investigação revelou que o processo de luta pela terra nessa região foi muito tenso para os camponeses, com muitos conflitos e mortes.
