The elaboration of infographics about mining: in search of a contextualized Chemistry Teaching

Resumo: This paper presents the study of metallic connections through mining and its social, economic and environmental impacts through the production of infographics. The objective of this work was to evaluate the production of infographics as a resource in the search for contextualization in Chemistry Teaching. The activities were developed with a class of thirty students of the first year of high school of a private school of the Municipality of Cachoeira do Sul, localized in State Rio Grande do Sul. The methodological path used was that of action research represented by a sequence of planning, implementation and evaluation of the results. The students were divided into groups, and chemical elements were raffle for the research and production of the infographics in which the images, texts, graphs and maps for their presentation were combined. The metals selected were according to the mining carried out in Brazil. The results indicate that the productions of the infographics made possible authorship process and creativity of the groups, of the ten works produced none of them met all the criteria requested, a possibility for this fact is the difficulty of carrying out the process of research, reading, interpretation and subsequent elaboration of the infographic. The students were able to build the infographics combining text with images, the activity motivated the participation and commitment of the groups that performed the use of infographics in other disciplines. The work made possible the conceptual approach of chemical connections in a contextualized way to the mining process, besides seeking to develop the students' view on the social aspects, economical and environmental providing a global and critical view on extraction processes.

El objetivo de este trabajo es respaldar la producción de infografías como un recurso en busca de contexto, no la enseñanza de la química. Las actividades se desarrollaron con una clase de treinta estudiantes de secundaria de primer año de una escuela privada en Cachoeira do Sul-RS. El enfoque metodológico utilizado fue el de la investigación en acción representado por una secuencia de planificación, implementación y evaluación de los resultados. Los estudiantes se dividieron en grupos, y se dibujaron elementos químicos para la investigación y producción de infograficos, combinando las imágenes, textos, gráficos y mapas para su presentación. Los metales seleccionados fueron de acuerdo con la mineración realizada en Brasil. Los resultados indican que las producciones de la infografía permitieron el proceso de autoría y creatividad de los grupos, de los diez trabajos producidos ninguno de ellos cumplió con todos los criterios solicitados, una posibilidad para este hecho es la dificultad de realizar el proceso de investigación, lectura, interpretación y posterior elaboración de infografía. Los estudiantes pudieron construir la infografía combinando texto con imágenes, la actividad motivó la participación y el compromiso de los grupos que utilizaron los infograficos en otras materias. El trabajo permitió el enfoque conceptual de los enlaces químicos de una manera contextualizada al proceso de minería, así como la búsqueda del desarrollo de la visión de los estudiantes sobre los aspectos sociales, económicos y ambientales, proporcionando una visión global y crítica de los procesos de extracción.Este trabalho apresenta o estudo das ligações metálicas por meio da mineração e seus impactos sociais, econômicos e ambientais através da produção de infográficos. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a produção de infográficos como recurso na busca de contextualização no Ensino de Química.  As atividades foram desenvolvidas com uma turma de trinta estudantes do primeiro ano do Ensino Médio de um colégio privado do Município de Cachoeira do Sul-RS.  O percurso metodológico utilizado foi o de pesquisa-ação representado por uma sequência do planejamento, implementação e avaliação dos resultados. Os estudantes foram divididos em grupos, sendo sorteados elementos químicos para a realização da pesquisa e produção dos infográficos que foram combinados as imagens, textos, gráficos e mapas para sua apresentação. Os metais selecionados foram de acordo com a mineração realizada no Brasil. Os resultados apontam que as produções dos infográficos possibilitaram processo de autoria e criatividade dos grupos, dos dez trabalhos produzidos nenhum deles cumpriu todos os critérios solicitados, uma possibilidade para este fato é a dificuldade de realizar o processo de pesquisa, leitura, interpretação e posterior elaboração do infográfico. Os estudantes conseguiram construir os infográficos aliando texto com imagens, a atividade motivou a participação e empenho dos grupos que realizaram o uso de infográficos em outras disciplinas.
