Epidemiological profile of gestational and congenital syphilis in the State of Piaui in the period 2017 to 2020

Resumo: Objective: To analyze the epidemiological profile of gestational and congenital syphilis in the state of Piauí in the period from 2017 to 2020. Method: This study is a systematic review, based on data in the virtual health library-bvs and PEDro database, using the descriptors: syphilis; gestation; Piauí; epidemiology. The search in the database took place between March and April 2020. Results: In the virtual health library (bvs) database, a total of 45 articles were found on the topic addressed and in the PEDro database, 15 were found. Of these articles, only 07 were selected because they met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Conclusion: Thus, Piauí needs an improvement in its epidemiological surveillance in order to obtain a reduction in the incidence and mortality rates due to congenital syphilis. It is emphasized that such preventive practices and assistance must involve the entire multidisciplinary health team.

Método: Este estudio es una revisión sistemática, basada en datos de la biblioteca virtual de salud bvs y la base de datos PEDro, utilizando los descriptores: sífilis; gestación; Piauí; epidemiología. La búsqueda en la base de datos tuvo lugar entre marzo y abril de 2020. Resultados: En la base de datos de la biblioteca virtual de salud (bvs), se encontraron 45 artículos sobre el tema abordado y en la base de datos PEDro, se encontraron 15. De estos artículos, solo se seleccionaron 07 porque cumplen con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Conclusión: Piauí por lo tanto necesita una mejora en su vigilancia epidemiológica, a fin de obtener una reducción en las tasas de incidencia y mortalidad debido a la sífilis congénita. Se enfatiza que tales prácticas preventivas y asistencia deben involucrar a todo el equipo multidisciplinario de salud.Objetivo: Analisar o perfil epidemiológico de sífilis gestacional e congênita no estado do Piauí no período de 2017 a 2020. Método: Este estudo trata-se de uma revisão sistemática, com base de dados na biblioteca virtual em saúde- bvs e base de dados PEDro, utilizando os descritores: sífilis; gestação; Piauí; epidemiologia. A busca na base de dados ocorreu entre março e abril de 2020. Resultados: Na base de dados biblioteca virtual em saúde (bvs) foram encontrados no total 45 artigos sobre o tema abordado e na base de dados PEDro foram encontrados 15. Após leitura de todos esses artigos, apenas 07 foram selecionados por estarem de acordo com os critérios de inclusão e exclusão. Conclusão: Deste modo o Piauí necessita de uma melhoria na sua vigilância epidemiológica para que obtenha uma redução das taxas de incidência e de mortalidade por sífilis congênita.
