Thermal performance evaluation of building with vertical fences of reinforced concrete cast in loco

Resumo: Studies carried out in the last decade, based on the thermal performance evaluation procedures of NBR 15.575/2013, emphasized the low performance of cast-in-place reinforced concrete walls in some climatic conditions in Brazil. Due to the criticism directed at such procedures, in 2021, an amendment was published altering the old methods of evaluating the thermal performance of buildings of the aforementioned standard, therefore requiring the corresponding updates for new projects. The article aims to evaluate the thermal performance of a single-family housing project with vertical fences made of reinforced concrete cast in loco, within the climatic conditions of the municipality of Paulo Afonso-BA, based on the new procedures of the performance standard of buildings. As for the methodological procedures, the EnergyPlus software was used to perform a computer simulation of a single-family housing project, admitting two values of solar absorptance for the roof, that is, MReal1 with α = 0.2 and MReal2 with α = 0, 4. The percentage of transparent elements and ventilation, present in the house design, contribute to a lower thermal performance in the living room and bedroom 2, seen in the results obtained by both methods. However, it is concluded with the computational simulation method, that a superior thermal performance can be achieved by changing the color of the roof to a light color.

Debido a las críticas dirigidas a tales procedimientos, en el año 2021, se publicó una enmienda que altera los antiguos métodos de evaluación del rendimiento térmico de los edificios de la citada norma, por lo que se requieren las actualizaciones correspondientes para nuevos proyectos. En vista de esta actualización, este trabajo tiene como objetivo evaluar el comportamiento térmico de un proyecto de vivienda unifamiliar con cercos verticales de hormigón armado vaciado in loco, en las condiciones climáticas del municipio de Paulo Afonso-BA, basado en los nuevos procedimientos del estándar de desempeño de edificios. En cuanto a los procedimientos metodológicos, se utilizó el software EnergyPlus para realizar una simulación por computadora de un proyecto de vivienda unifamiliar, asumiendo dos valores de absorbancia solar para la cubierta, es decir, MReal1 con α = 0,2 y MReal2 con α = 0,4. El porcentaje de elementos transparentes y ventilación, presentes en el diseño de la casa, contribuyen a un menor desempeño térmico en la sala y el dormitorio 2, visto en los resultados obtenidos por los dos métodos. Sin embargo, se concluye con el método de simulación computacional, que se puede lograr un rendimiento térmico superior cambiando el color del techo a un color claro.Estudos realizados, na década passada, baseados nos procedimentos de avaliação de desempenho térmico da NBR 15.575/2013, enfatizaram o baixo desempenho de paredes de concreto armado moldado no local em algumas condições climáticas do Brasil. Devido às críticas direcionadas a tais procedimentos, no ano de 2021, uma emenda foi publicada alterando os antigos métodos de avaliação do desempenho térmico de edificações da citada norma, sendo, portanto exigidas as correspondentes atualizações para novos projetos. O artigo tem como objetivo avaliar o desempenho térmico de um projeto de habitação unifamiliar com vedações verticais feitas de concreto armado moldado in loco, dentro das condições climáticas do município de Paulo Afonso-BA, tomando-se como base os novos procedimentos da norma de desempenho de edificações. Quanto aos procedimentos metodológicos, utilizou-se o software EnergyPlus para realização de simulação computacional de um projeto de habitação unifamiliar, admitindo dois valores de absortância solar para a cobertura, ou seja, MReal1 com α = 0,2 e MReal2 com α = 0,4. Os resultados indicaram que o referido sistema construtivo, quando avaliado de maneira isolada pelo método simplificado, não possui transmitância térmica adequada para a localidade, consequentemente, a habitação não atinge o desempenho térmico mínimo. O percentual de elementos transparentes e ventilação, presentes no projeto da casa, contribuem para um desempenho térmico mais baixo na sala e quarto 2, visto nos resultados obtidos pelos dois métodos.
