Resumo: | The objective of this study was to analyze data on dengue epidemiology for the municipality of Marabá in order to establish a retrospective analysis over the years and disseminate the information so that everyone has access to knowledge. The study was carried out in the city of Marabá, in the state of Pará, with data referring to the years 2001 to 2017, from the database of the Notifiable Diseases Information System. The studied variables were year of notification, sex, age group and race, with exposure of the number of cases per variable. 6,363 dengue cases were registered in the municipality of Marabá, from 2001 to 2017. In the years between 2001 and 2003, the highest number of cases occurred, and in contrast, 2004 and 2014 were the years with the lowest incidence. Regarding notifications of dengue by sex, no significant difference was observed. In the age group variable, between 20 and 39 years, there was a great incidence during the years 2001 and 2003. As for the race, the most affected was the brown, followed by the white race. The breeds with the lowest incidence of dengue were indigenous and yellow. Dengue acts endemically in the municipality of Marabá, maintaining itself over the years, affecting the local population due to the high degree of adaptation of its vector and the exposure of people. It is necessary to create public policies and intervene by the authorities responsible for caring for people's health. |
