Regulatory frameworks and theoretical assumptions of environmental education: a literature review study

Resumo: | Issues related to environmental degradation have been emphasized, worldwide, in the face of the environmental crisis that affects contemporary societies. This study, which is characterized as a bibliographic review, with a qualitative approach, aims to describe the regulatory frameworks of Brazilian environmental education and its theoretical assumptions. Environmental education, in the Brazilian historical context, is present in public policies and in the guiding documents of national education, conceived from major international conferences, usually organized by the UN and UNESCO, from the 1970s. The extent of environmental problems is also considered, from which needs emerge for a new social posture in relation to the environment. In this perspective, it is believed that the regulatory frameworks of Brazilian environmental education are not disconnected from basic education documents, in view of the prerogatives for the insertion of environmental education at all levels and modes of education. |

Este estudio, que se caracteriza como una revisión bibliográfica, con un enfoque cualitativo, tiene como objetivo describir los marcos regulatorios de la educación ambiental brasileña y sus supuestos teóricos. La educación ambiental, en el contexto histórico brasileño, está presente en las políticas públicas y en los documentos rectores de la educación nacional, concebidos a partir de las principales conferencias internacionales, generalmente organizadas por la ONU y la UNESCO, desde la década de 1970. También se considera el alcance de los problemas ambientales, de los cuales surgen las necesidades de una nueva postura social en relación con el medio ambiente. En esta perspectiva, se cree que los marcos regulatorios de la educación ambiental brasileña no están desconectados de los documentos de educación básica, en vista de las prerrogativas para la inserción de la educación ambiental en todos los niveles y modos de educación.As questões relacionadas à degradação ambiental, têm recebido ênfase, em âmbito mundial, frente à crise ambiental que afeta as sociedades contemporâneas. Neste estudo, que se caracteriza como uma revisão bibliográfica, de abordagem qualitativa, objetiva-se descrever os marcos regulatórios da educação ambiental brasileira e seus pressupostos teóricos. A educação ambiental, no contexto histórico brasileiro, está presente nas políticas públicas e nos documentos norteadores da educação nacional, pensados a partir de grandes conferências internacionais, geralmente organizadas pela ONU e UNESCO, a partir da década de 1970. Considera-se também a amplitude dos problemas ambientais, dos quais emergem necessidades para uma nova postura social em relação ao meio ambiente.
