Main Nursing Care Destined to People with Spinal Cord Injury

Resumo: Spinal cord injury occurs as a consequence of some trauma, altering the motor capacity and/or sensitivity (or both) of the entire body segment or part of it, thus affecting the quality of life of affected people. The aim of the study is to understand the main nursing care for people with spinal cord injury (SCI). This is an integrative literature review study, developed through attached articles in the nursing databases (BDENF) and Academic Google. Due to changes after spinal cord injury, the provision of adequate nursing care contributes to the promotion of well-being and prevents health problems. The results of the integrative review showed that the main nursing interventions for patients with spinal cord injury are related to care for pressure injuries, immobility, urinary retention, feelings of anxiety, feeding, self-care, constipation, risk of autonomic dysreflexia and dysreflexia autonomic. Therefore, it is essential that the nursing professional strives for this care to be performed correctly, aiming at the particularities and needs of each patient, so that they can contribute to facing limitations and improving biopsychosocial.

El objetivo del estudio es conocer los principales cuidados de enfermería para las personas con lesión medular (LM). Se trata de un estudio de revisión integradora de la literatura, desarrollado a través de artículos adjuntos en las bases de datos de enfermería (BDENF) y Google Académico. Debido a los cambios posteriores a la lesión de la médula espinal, la prestación de cuidados de enfermería adecuados contribuye a la promoción del bienestar y previene problemas de salud. Los resultados de la revisión integradora mostraron que las principales intervenciones de enfermería para pacientes con lesión medular están relacionadas con el cuidado de las lesiones por presión, inmovilidad, retención urinaria, sentimientos de ansiedad, alimentación, autocuidado, estreñimiento, riesgo de disreflexia autonómica y disreflexia autonómica. . Por ello, es fundamental que el profesional de enfermería se esfuerce por que estos cuidados se realicen correctamente, apuntando a las particularidades y necesidades de cada paciente, para que puedan contribuir a afrontar las limitaciones y mejorar la biopsicosocial.A lesão medular ocorre por conseqüência de algum trauma, alterando a capacidade motora e/ou a sensibilidade (ou ambas) de todo segmento corporal ou parte dele, afetando assim a qualidade de vida das pessoas acometidas. O objetivo do estudo é compreender sobre quais são os principais cuidados de enfermagem destinada as pessoas com lesão medular (LM). Trata-se de um estudo de revisão integrativa da literatura, desenvolvida por meio de artigos anexados nas bases de dados em enfermagem (BDENF) e Google Acadêmico. Devido às alterações após a lesão medular, a oferta dos cuidados de enfermagem adequados, contribui para a promoção do bem-estar e previne agravos a saúde. Os resultados da revisão integrativa mostraram que as principais intervenções de enfermagem ao paciente com lesão medular, estão relacionadas com os cuidados com as lesões por pressão, imobilidade, retenção urinária, sentimentos de angústia, alimentação, autocuidado, constipação, risco de disreflexia autonômica e disreflexia autonômica.
