Oncogenetic counseling as care technology in oncology nursing: an integrative review

Resumo: | Genetic counseling is prior assistance, interpretation of findings, and estimates of genetic risks for clinically healthy people, with family members who have a diagnosis and a documented rare disease. The objective of this study is to identify, based on scientific production in the nursing area, the participation of nurses in oncogenetic counseling, pointing out their practices and challenges. To achieve this objective, the integrative literature review method was used. A total of 1007 articles were found in the initial search. When applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 5 articles were selected for analysis, which after being examined were categorized with a low level of evidence. From the results obtained, it was possible to observe the scarcity of qualified content and knowledge of the subject by professionals in the field. The nurse is in an ideal position in the health service, having a knowledge base on the role of the professional in the area, prepares the nursing workforce to offer specialized care with an Oncogenetic Counseling approach. |

El objetivo de este estudio es identificar, a partir de la producción científica en el área de enfermería, la participación del enfermero en el asesoramiento oncogenético, señalando sus prácticas y desafíos. Para lograr este objetivo se utilizó el método de revisión integradora de la literatura. Se encontraron un total de 1007 artículos en la búsqueda inicial. Al aplicar los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se seleccionaron 5 artículos para su análisis, que luego de ser examinados fueron categorizados con un bajo nivel de evidencia. A partir de los resultados obtenidos, se pudo observar la escasez de contenidos calificados y conocimientos de la materia por parte de los profesionales en la materia. La enfermera se encuentra en una posición ideal en el servicio de salud, al tener una base de conocimientos sobre el rol del profesional en el área, prepara a la fuerza laboral de enfermería para ofrecer atención especializada con enfoque de Consejería Oncogenética.O aconselhamento genético é a assistência prévia, a interpretação de achados e estimativas de riscos genéticos para pessoas clinicamente saudáveis, com familiares que apresentem diagnóstico e doença rara documentada. O objetivo deste estudo é identificar, a partir da produção científica na área de enfermagem, a participação do enfermeiro no aconselhamento oncogenético, apontando suas práticas e desafios. Para atingir tal objetivo, foi utilizado o método de revisão integrativa da literatura. Foram encontrados na busca inicial um total de 1007 artigos. Ao aplicar os critérios de inclusão e exclusão, selecionaram-se 5 artigos para análise, que após examinados foram categorizados com baixo nível de evidência. A partir dos resultados obtidos, foi possível observar a escassez de conteúdo qualificado e conhecimento do assunto por parte dos profissionais da área.
