Nutritional assessment and screening the nutritional risk of patients at the psychiatric clinic of a reference hospital in Belém-PA

Resumo: | Introduction: Mental disorders are defined as diseases that manifest psychologically associated with some functional impairment, which encompasses a series of symptoms - such as difficulty concentrating and insomnia. Objective: to describe the nutritional screening and nutritional status of psychiatric patients hospitalized in the Psychiatry sectors of Hospital de Clínicas Gaspar Vianna (HCGV). Methodology: Cross-sectional descriptive and analytical study, with hospitalized patients with mental disorders. For statistical analysis, the Spearman correlation test was used and a 5% significance level was adopted. Results: Ninety-four patients were evaluated, of which 58.24% were male and 41.75% were female, of which 95.60% were adults. According to the BMI, the prevailing nutritional status was eutrophy (51.64%), whereas, according to the %ACB, it was malnutrition (49.45%). Conclusion: The use of subjective and objective methods with these patients is extremely important to define the best nutritional practices and thus guarantee the recovery or maintenance of the nutritional status of these individuals. |

Objetivo: describir el tamizaje nutricional y el estado nutricional de los pacientes psiquiátricos internados en los sectores de Psiquiatría del Hospital de Clínicas Gaspar Vianna (HCGV). Metodología: Estudio transversal descriptivo y analítico, con pacientes hospitalizados con trastornos mentales. Para el análisis estadístico se utilizó la prueba de correlación de Spearman y se adoptó un nivel de significación del 5%. Resultados: Se evaluaron 94 pacientes, de los cuales el 58,24% eran del sexo masculino y el 41,75% del sexo femenino, de los cuales el 95,60% eran adultos. Según el IMC, el estado nutricional predominante fue la eutrofia (51,64%), mientras que, según el %ACB, fue la desnutrición (49,45%). Conclusión: El uso de métodos subjetivos y objetivos con estos pacientes es de suma importancia para definir las mejores prácticas nutricionales y así garantizar la recuperación o mantenimiento del estado nutricional de estos individuos.Introdução: Os transtornos mentais são definidos como doenças que se manifestam psicologicamente associadas a algum comprometimento funcional, que engloba uma série de sintomas - como dificuldade de concentração e insônia. Objetivo: Descrever a triagem nutricional e o estado nutricional de pacientes psiquiátricos internados nos setores de Psiquiatria do Hospital de Clínicas Gaspar Vianna (HCGV). Metodologia: Estudo transversal de cunho descritivo e analítico, com pacientes internados portadores de transtornos mentais. Para análise estatística foi utilizado o Teste de correlação de Spearman e adotado 5% de significância. Resultados: Foram avaliados 91 pacientes, os quais 58,24% eram do sexo masculino e 41,75% do sexo feminino, destes eram adultos 95,60%. Segundo o IMC o estado nutricional prevalente foi a eutrofia (51,64%), já conforme a %ACB foi a desnutrição (49,45%).
