Control of Eragrostis plana Nees (capin-annoni) germination: innovation with botanical bioproducts

Resumo: | Eragrostis plana (capin-annoni) is an exotic grass brought to Brazil in 1950. Considered an invasive plant in several countries, it currently occupies approximately 10% of Pampa‘s Biome territory. The natural ecosystems of Río Grande do Sul associated with the Pampa Biome have suffered from E. plana invasion due to the expansion of the agriculture and livestock management, which makes empty spaces available for their establishment. The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficiency of botanical bioproducts produced from two plants native to the Pampa and one exotic in the control of E. plana seed germination in two different seasons. For this, different concentrations of nanoemulsions of Melaleuca alternifolia and Baccharis crispa, essential oil and hydrolate of Aloysia gratissima were used. The design was in a 4x3+1 factorial scheme, with 4 bioproducts (treatments) and 3 concentrations + control treatment, with four repetitions. Results enabled to calculate the percentage and germination speed index, followed by the Kruskal-Wallis test and Dun's post hoc test with p<0.05%, demonstrating significant differences in with M. alternifolia nanoemulsion and A. gratissima hydrolate in autumn and with M. alternifolia nanoemulsion in spring. These results obtained from the allelopathic effects of botanical bioproducts show a promising prospect in the control of this specie. |

Considerada una planta invasora en varios países, actualmente ocupando aproximadamente 10% del territorio del Bioma Pampa. Los ecosistemas naturales de Río Grande del Sur asociados al Bioma Pampa han sufrido con la invasión de poblaciones de capin-annoni debido a la expansión de frontera agrícola y el manejo ganadero, que disponibiliza nichos vacíos para su establecimiento. El objetivo de este estudio es evaluar la eficiencia de bioinsumos botánicos producidos a partir de dos plantas nativas del Pampa y una exótica en el control de la germinación de semillas de capin-annoni en dos estaciones sazonales. Para eso, fueron utilizadas diferentes concentraciones de nanoemulsiones de Melaleuca alternifolia y Baccharis crispa, aceite esencial e hidrolato de Aloysia gratissima. El delineamiento fue en esquema factorial 4x3+1, con 4 bioinsumos (tratamientos) y 3 concentraciones + tratamiento control, con cuatro repeticiones. A partir de los resultados fue calculado el porcentaje y el índice de velocidad de germinación, seguido del test de Kruskal-Wallis y post hoc de Dun con p< 0,05%, demostrando diferencias significativas en el otoño con la nanoemulsión de M. Alternifolia e hidrolato de A. gratissima y en la primavera con la nanoemulsión de M. alternifolia.
