Being a woman in abortion: a study in the light of existential phenomenology

Resumo: Objective: Unveil the experience of the being-woman facing abortion. Methodology: This is a qualitative research approaching the existential phenomenology of Martin Heidegger. Carried out with ten women in Maceió – Alagoas. Testimonies were obtained through the phenomenological interview. Results: From the analysis of the interviews, four units of meaning emerged: Being a woman experiencing loss; Being a woman experiencing pain; Being a woman experiencing sadness for the loss, Being a woman experiencing fear for the other. Conclusion: This study allowed the verification of the need for strategies that go beyond the immediate care inherent to the obstetric complications of abortion. Interventions are necessary in the biopsychosocial aspects, and professionals are not responsible for attributing a value judgment, but for understanding what each woman experiences, as well as care based on an attitude of empathy and acceptance.

Metodología: Se trata de una investigación cualitativa que aborda la fenomenología existencial de Martin Heidegger. Realizado con diez mujeres en Maceió - Alagoas. Los testimonios se obtuvieron a través de la entrevista fenomenológica. Resultados: Del análisis de las entrevistas surgieron cuatro unidades de significado: ser una mujer que experimenta una pérdida; Ser una mujer que experimenta dolor; Ser una mujer que siente tristeza por la pérdida, Ser una mujer que siente miedo por el otro. Conclusión: Este estudio permitió constatar la necesidad de estrategias que vayan más allá de la atención inmediata inherente a las complicaciones obstétricas del aborto. Las intervenciones son necesarias en los aspectos biopsicosociales, y los profesionales no son responsables de atribuir un juicio de valor, sino de comprender lo que vive cada mujer, así como un cuidado basado en una actitud de empatía y aceptación.Objetivo: Desvelar a vivência do ser-mulher em abortamento. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa com abordagem da fenomenologia existencial de Martin Heidegger. Realizada com dez mulheres em Maceió – Alagoas.  Os depoimentos foram obtidos por meio da entrevista fenomenológica. Resultados: A partir da análise das entrevistas emergiram quatro unidades de significação: Ser-mulher vivenciando a perda; Ser-mulher vivenciando a dor; Ser-mulher vivenciando a tristeza pela perda, Ser-mulher vivenciando o temor pelo outro.  Conclusão: A realização desse estudo permitiu a constatação da necessidade de estratégias que vão além do cuidado imediato inerente a intercorrência obstétrica do abortamento.
