Environmental impacts in Juazeirinho-PB: analysis of the Mucutú reservoir after human intervention

Resumo: It is known that the northeast region has regional subdivisions classified as Meio-Norte, Sertão, Agreste and Zona da Mata, where the main characteristic that differentiates them is the climatic conditions that corroborate the economic, population and vegetation differences. In this perspective, this work focuses on the northeastern Sertão sub-region, which is inserted in the so-called drought polygon, which has long periods of drought that contribute to low agricultural productivity and drought in the region. As a means of hiding the difficulties arising from such characteristics, for a long period there were government actions for the implementation of dams in order to circumvent the drought, for example, the Mucutú dam in the municipality of Juazeirinho-PB. However, despite the benefits to the population with access to the dammed waters in the dams, they generate several environmental impacts that arise during their construction. Therefore, the objective of this work was to analyze the environmental impacts recorded in the Mucutú weir located in the city of Juazeirinho-PB after anthropic interventions of extraction of materials such as clay and rocks for works of the dam of the weir, and destruction of the local vegetation by immersion in the water where losses of soil material and vegetation can be identified. The study was covered by means of a case study methodology with method (CHECKLIST), with the resources of in loco investigation with open interviews carried out with local residents, fieldwork and bibliographic research with the reading of some authors who cover such themes in their studies. The results obtained in the research were the degradation problems found in the dam activities carried out by anthropic action, where soil problems, water pollution, in addition to landscape degradation and damage to the local nature were found. It is concluded that it is of fundamental importance to use projects that are concerned with environmental maintenance and integrity even before carrying out any humanistic action.

En esa perspectiva, este trabajo se centra en la subregión nororiental del Sertão, que se inserta en el llamado polígono de sequía, que tiene largos períodos de sequía que contribuyen a la baja productividad agrícola y la sequía en la región. Como una forma de ocultar las dificultades derivadas de tales características, durante mucho tiempo hubo acciones gubernamentales para la implementación de represas para sortear la sequía, por ejemplo, la represa de Mucutú en el municipio de Juazeirinho-PB. Sin embargo, a pesar de los beneficios a la población con el acceso a las aguas embalsadas en las presas, éstas generan varios impactos ambientales que se presentan durante su construcción. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar los impactos ambientales registrados en el embalse de Mucutú ubicado en la ciudad de Juazeirinho-PB después de intervenciones antrópicas de extracción de materiales como arcilla y rocas para obras de la represa del embalse, y destrucción de la vegetación local por inmersión en el agua del embalse donde se pueden identificar pérdidas de material de suelo y vegetación. El estudio se abarcó mediante una metodología de estudio de caso con método (CHECK-LIST), con los recursos de la investigación in loco con entrevistas abiertas realizadas a pobladores locales, trabajo de campo e investigación bibliográfica con la lectura de algunos autores que abordan dichos temas. En sus estudios. Los resultados obtenidos en la investigación fueron los problemas de degradación encontrados en las actividades de embalse realizadas por acción antrópica, donde se encontraron problemas de suelo, contaminación del agua, además de degradación del paisaje y daños a la naturaleza local. Se concluye que es de fundamental importancia utilizar proyectos que se preocupen por el mantenimiento e integridad del medio ambiente incluso antes de realizar cualquier acción humanística.É sabido que a região nordeste possui subdivisões regionais classificadas em Meio-Norte, Sertão, Agreste e Zona da Mata onde a principal característica que as diferenciam são as condições climáticas que corroboram com as diferenciações econômicas, populacionais e na vegetação. Nesta perspectiva, este trabalho tem como foco a sub-região do Sertão nordestino que por esta inserido no chamado polígono da seca possui longos períodos de estiagem que contribui para a baixa produtividade agrícola e seca na região. Como meio de esconder as dificuldades oriundas de tais características, por um longo período existiu ações governamentais para implantações de açudes com o intuito de dribla a seca, a exemplo tem-se o açude de Mucutú no município de Juazeirinho-PB. Porém, apesar dos benefícios a população com o acesso as águas represadas nos açudes, geram diversos impactos ambientais que surgem no decorrer da sua construção. Por tanto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar os impactos ambientais registrados no açude do Mucutú localizado na cidade de Juazeirinho-PB após intervenções antrópicas de extração de materiais como argila e rochas para obras do represamento do açude, e destruição da vegetação local por imersão na água onde pode ser identificado perdas de material do solo e de vegetação. O estudo acobertou-se por meio de metodologia de estudo de caso com método (CHECK-LIST), com os recursos de investigação in loco com entrevistas abertas realizadas com os moradores locais, trabalho de campo e pesquisa bibliográfica com a leitura de alguns autores que abarcam em seus estudos tais temáticas. Os resultados obtidos na pesquisa foram os problemas de degradação encontrados nas atividades de açudagem realizadas pela ação antrópica, onde foram encontrados problemas de solo, poluição de águas, além da degradação paisagística e danificação da natureza local.
