Physicochemical and microbiological characterization of sea water from beaches on the coast of Pernambuco

Resumo: Pernambuco is known for the beauty of its beaches with high temperatures, which are frequented for leisure activities. In this way, the beaches have become an environment of great circulation, in addition to the expansion of industries, agriculture, livestock and urban centers, contributing to the impact of ecosystems. The set of these factors directly influence the rise in the rate of contamination of saline water, due to the disposal of inorganic waste at sea. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the physical-chemical and microbiological parameters of sea Pernambuco. The collections were carried out from April to May 2022 ar Candeias beaches (P1 and P2) and paiva beach and were subjected to physicochemical and microbiological analysis. The parameters of acidity, alkalinity, chlorides, sulfates, calcium, magnesium, total hardness, sodium, potassium, the series of solids, DQO, DBO, despite not being controlled by CONAMA ordinance 357/2005 for class 1,2 and 3 saline waters, have high values, mainly at points (P1 and P2), indicating the presence of effluent discharges on the coast. The microbiological analyzes shows the presence of total and fecal coliforms, where the existence of the bacteria Escherichia coli variety I, Enterobacter aerogenes variety I and Enterobacter aerogenes variety II were identified. However, microbiological analyzes showed the existence of a high level of contamination on the beaches of the Pernambuco coast, making it necessary to monitor the saline waters to guarantee their sanitary quality for use.

De esta manera, las playas se han convertido en un ambiente de gran circulación, además de la expansión de industrias, agricultura, ganadería y centros urbanos, contribuyendo al impacto de los ecosistemas. El conjunto de estos factores influye directamente en el aumento de la tasa de contaminación de las aguas salinas, debido al vertido de en el mar. Así, el presente estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar los parámetros físico-químicos y microbiológicos del agua de mar de las playas del litoral de Pernambuco. Las colectas se realizaron de abril a mayo de 2022 en Praia de Candeias (P1 y P2) y Praia do Paiva (P3) fueron sometidas a análisis fisicoquímicos y microbiológicos. Los parámetros de acidez, alcalinidad, cloruros, sulfatos, calcio, magnesio, dureza total, sodio, potasio, la serie de sólidos, DQO y DBO, mientras no estar controlados por la ordenanza CONAMA 357/2005 para aguas salinas clase 1,2 y 3, tienen valores elevados, principalmente en los puntos (P1 y P2), indicando la presencia de vertidos de efluentes en la costa. Los análisis microbiológicos mostraron la presencia de coliformes totales, fecales, donde se identificó la existencia de las bacterias Echerichia coli variedade I, Enterobacter aerogenes variedade I y Enterobacter aerogenes variedade II. Sin embargo, los análisis microbiológicos mostraron la existencia de un alto nivel de contaminación en las playas del litoral Pernambucano, siendo necesario monitorear las aguas salinas para garantizar su calidad sanitaria.Pernambuco é conhecido pela beleza de suas praias de altas temperaturas, que são frequentadas para realização de atividades de lazer. Desse modo, as praias tornaram-se um ambiente de grande circulação, além da expansão de indústrias, agricultura, pecuária e centros urbanos, contribuindo para o impacto dos ecossistemas. O conjunto desses fatores influenciam diretamente na ascensão da taxa de contaminação da água salina, em razão do descarte de resíduos inorgânicos no mar.  Desta forma, o presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar ao parâmetros físico-químicos e microbiológicos da água do mar de praias do litoral de Pernambuco. As coletas foram realizadas nos meses de abril a maio de 2022 nas Praias de Candeias (P1 e P2) e na Praia do Paiva (P3) e foram submetidos a análises físico-químicas e microbiológicas.  Os parâmetros de acidez, alcalinidade, cloretos, sulfatos, cálcio, magnésio, dureza total, sódio, potássio, a série de sólidos, DQO e DBO, apesar de não serem controlados pela portaria 357/2005 do CONAMA para águas salinas classe 1,2 e 3, apresentam valores elevados, principalmente nos pontos (P1 e P2), indicando a presença de despejos de efluentes no litoral.
