Resumo: The purpose of this report is to describe a surgical case of correction of a transverse fracture in the humeral diaphysis of striped owl (Asio clamator) using the hybrid fixation technique (tie-in configuration). describing the conditions for the chosen conduct and the positive results in the treatment of this type of fracture in this species. In the methodology, it was reported, in a striped owl (Asio clamator), from a rescue after a collision accident with a residence, attended at the Veterinary Hospital of the INTA University Center (HOVET-UNINTA) presenting difficulty in perching, paresis, wings asymmetrical and drooping. As a result of the clinical and surgical care, after stabilization, a radiographic examination was performed in ventro-dorsal projection, showing the presence of a complete transverse fracture in the left humeral diaphysis. Then, the tie-in conformation was used to stabilize the fracture. From this case, it was observed that the use of the tie-in configuration can be an effective alternative in these cases, demonstrating recovery of the animal after the post-surgical period.

Then, the tie-in conformation was used to stabilize the fracture. From this case, it was observed that the use of the tie-in configuration can be an effective alternative in these cases, demonstrating recovery of the animal after the post-surgical period. Research, Society and Development2022-06-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/3069210.33448/rsd-v11i8.30692Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 8; e24111830692Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 8; e24111830692Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 8; e241118306922525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/30692/26462Copyright (c) 2022 Alanna Cristhyna da Silva Gomes; Robson dos Anjos Honorato; Thiago Carlos Babinsk; Matheus Levi Tajra Feitosa; Andressa Nunes Mouta ; Aline Martins Venuto; Valcledes Nascimento do Oriente; Geysa Almeida Viana; Maria Janeila Carvalho Soares; Brenda Lopes Paivahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGomes, Alanna Cristhyna da Silva Honorato, Robson dos Anjos Babinsk, Thiago Carlos Feitosa, Matheus Levi Tajra Mouta , Andressa Nunes Venuto, Aline Martins Oriente, Valcledes Nascimento do Viana, Geysa Almeida Soares, Maria Janeila Carvalho Paiva, Brenda Lopes 2022-07-01T13:34:06Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/30692Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:47:22.084835Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
