Impact of COVID-19 morbimortality of oncological patients in Teresina-PI

Resumo: The high mortality rate of covid-19 6.7% worldwide, (Turaga & Girotra, 2020), associated with a high transmissibility rate, requires a more targeted study for a portion of the population, which is within the comorbidities, which are cancer patients. Objectives: To verify changes in the hospitalization rates of cancer patients, and the influence of COVID-19 on the death of cancer patients. Methodology: Retrospective study that consists of analyzing the hospitalization and mortality rate of cancer patients between April 2019 and April 2021, through analysis of data available in open databases such as Opendatasus, datasus and the website of the health department of the state of Piauí. The present study has a cross-sectional statistical analysis, which obtained a P<0.0001 through the application of the binomial test, representing a relevance of 99.99%, which included patients with a previous diagnosis of cancer, cancer patients concomitantly diagnosed with COVID -19 through RT-PC; of any sex, age, with a previous diagnosis of cancer who were hospitalized or died, within a period of 2 years (2019-2020 and 2020-2021) in Teresina-PI. Results: A significant decline in hospitalization and mortality of cancer patients was observed over the period 2020-2021.

Objetivos: Verificar cambios en las tasas de hospitalización de pacientes oncológicos y la influencia del COVID-19 en la muerte de pacientes oncológicos. Metodología: Estudio retrospectivo que consiste en analizar la tasa de hospitalización y mortalidad de pacientes con cáncer entre abril de 2019 y abril de 2021, mediante el análisis de datos disponibles en bases de datos abiertas como Opendatasus, datasus y el sitio web del departamento de salud del estado de Piauí. El presente estudio cuenta con un análisis estadístico transversal, el cual obtuvo una P <0,0001 mediante la aplicación del test binomial, lo que representa una relevancia del 99,99%, que incluyó pacientes con diagnóstico previo de cáncer, pacientes oncológicos con diagnóstico concomitante de COVID-19. a través de RT-PC; de cualquier sexo, edad, con diagnóstico previo de cáncer que fueron hospitalizados o fallecieron, en un plazo de 2 años (2019-2020 y 2020-2021) en Teresina-PI. Resultado: se observó una disminución significativa en la hospitalización y la mortalidad de los pacientes con cáncer durante el período 2020-2021.A alta taxa de mortalidade do covid-19 6,7% em todo o mundo (Turaga & Girotra, 2020), associada a uma taxa de transmissibilidade alta requer um estudo mais direcionada para uma parcela da população, que se encontra dentro das comorbidades, que são os pacientes oncológicos. Objetivos: Verificar mudanças nas taxas de internação de pacientes oncológicos, e a influência do COVID-19 na morte de pacientes oncológicos. Metodologia: Estudo retrospectivo que consiste na análise da taxa de internação e de mortalidade de pacientes oncológicos entre abril de 2019 a abril de 2021, através de análise de dados disponíveis em bancos de dados abertos como Opendatasus, datasus e o site da secretaria de saúde do estado do Piauí. O presente estudo conta com uma análise estatística transversal, que obteve um P<0,0001 através da aplicação do teste binominal, representando uma relevância de 99,99%, onde foram incluídos pacientes com diagnostico prévio de câncer, pacientes oncológicos diagnosticados concomitantemente com COVID-19 por meio do RT-PC; de qualquer sexo, idade, com diagnóstico prévio de neoplasia que foram internados ou evoluíram a óbito, no período de 2 anos (2019-2020 e 2020-2021) em Teresina-PI.
