Resumo: Wrist circumference has been shown to be a promising anthropometric measure and may be associated with comorbidities, such as hypertension, insulin resistance and cardiovascular diseases. Objective of the study was evaluate the association between wrist circumference (CPU) and body mass index (BMI), arm circumference (AC) and calf circumference (PC) and to aggregate the NFC as an indicator of nutritional status in patients with heart disease admitted to hospital. an ICU. A cross-sectional, descriptive study with an approach to the population of patients with heart disease in an ICU located in the Recôncavo region of Bahia. In the first 72 hours of admission, the following anthropometric assessments were performed: knee height (KA) followed by height estimation; BC followed by estimation of body mass and BMI; CP; CPU followed by the calculation of body complexion (CC). To establish the correlation between WC and AC, HC and BMI, Pearson's correlation coefficients were used, considering the value of P<0.05. Description of the evaluated group: 22 men, 62.41±13.72 years, height (1.64±0.06 m), estimated body mass (63.63±16.72 kg), WC (34.84±6 .64 cm), CPU (18.08±0.97 cm), WC (9.13±0.52) and BMI (23.49±5.69 kg/m2). Regarding correlations: BMI vs. CB (r: 0.9815, P: 0.0001), BMI vs. CP (r: 0.5249, P: 0.0001), BMI vs. CC (r: 0.2956, P: 0.0089), CC vs. CB (r: 0.2483, P: 0.0183) and CC vs. CP (r: 0.1347, P: 0.0930). The NFC proved to be a simple and practical measure, with viable applicability that can be used in patients with heart disease admitted to the ICU.

Y el objetivo del estúdio era evaluar la asociación entre el perímetro de la muñeca (CPU) y el índice de masa corporal (IMC), el perímetro braquial (AC) y el perímetro de la pantorrilla (PC) y agregar el NFC como indicador del estado nutricional en pacientes con cardiopatía hospitalizados una UCI. Estudio transversal, descriptivo, con abordaje a la población de pacientes con cardiopatías en una UTI ubicada en la región del Recôncavo de Bahia. En las primeras 72 horas de ingreso se realizaron las siguientes evaluaciones antropométricas: altura de la rodilla (CA) seguida de estimación de la altura; BC seguido de la estimación de la masa corporal y el IMC; PC; CPU seguido del cálculo de la complexión corporal (CC). Para establecer la correlación entre CC y CA, CC e IMC, se utilizaron los coeficientes de correlación de Pearson, considerando el valor de P<0,05. Descripción del grupo evaluado: 22 hombres, 62,41±13,72 años, talla (1,64±0,06 m), masa corporal estimada (63,63±16,72 kg), CC (34,84±6,64 cm), CPU (18,08±0,97 cm), CC (9,13±0,52) e IMC (23,49±5,69 kg/m2). En cuanto a las correlaciones: IMC vs. BC (r: 0,9815, P: 0,0001), IMC vs. PC (r: 0,5249, P: 0,0001), IMC vs. CC (r: 0,2956, P: 0,0089), CC vs. CB (r: 0,2483, P: 0,0183) y CC vs. PC (r: 0,1347, P: 0,0930). El NFC demostró ser una medida sencilla y práctica, con aplicabilidad viable que puede ser utilizada en pacientes con cardiopatía ingresados en UTI.A circunferência do pulso tem se mostrado uma promissora medida antropométrica podendo ser associada as comorbidades, tais como hipertensão, resistência insulínica e doenças cardiovasculares. E o objetivo do estudo foi avaliar a associação entre a circunferência do pulso (CPU) e o índice de massa corporal (IMC), circunferência do braço (CB) e circunferência da panturrilha (CP) e agregar a CPU como indicador de estado nutricional em pacientes cardiopatas admitidos em uma UTI. Estudo transversal, de caráter descritivo com abordagem da população de pacientes cardiopatas em uma UTI localizada na região do Recôncavo da Bahia. Nas primeiras 72 horas de admissão, foram realizadas as seguintes avaliações antropométricas: altura do joelho (AJ) seguido da estimativa da estatura; CB seguido da estimativa de massa corporal e IMC; CP; CPU seguido do cálculo da compleição corporal (CC). Para estabelecer a correlação entre a CC e a CB, CP e IMC foram empregados os coeficientes de correlação de Pearson, considerando o valor de P<0.05. Descrição do grupo avaliado: 22 homens, 62,41±13.72 anos, estatura (1,64±0,06 m), massa corporal estimada (63,63±16,72 kg), CP (34,84±6,64 cm), CPU (18,08±0,97 cm), CC (9,13±0,52) e IMC (23,49±5,69 kg/m2).
